They could have scheduled it for 50 rounds, well aware that it would not last beyond a few ones (well, except for me and Cliff Rold anyway :lol1:)
Seriously, I remember the two Tyson vs Ruddock fights - which had no title involved - were also on the 12-round distance. As of now I can't recall other similar examples, though, but for sure there are many.
EDIT: looking at the days of my childhood, George Foreman's non-title fight vs Jimmy Young was also a 12 rounder.
Yes but in those days they were 15 round fights for a title
Just can’t see why this fight was12rnds
What say you now sir? :lol1:
:lol1: You didn't follow my own saga... I had picked Brook KO mid after all this bullshìt talk of mine, as he looked great at the weigh-in... but STILL changed my mind and took Khan DEC with a x5 for good measure!
Anyhow, Khan was shot to smithereens, but Brook didn't look exceptional. He should retire as well.
He looked like someone who may not be able to effectively control the hate. Also, I looked at his eyes, and they look quite unfocused. Perhaps his problems with depression, drinking etc. have taken a toll. Of course he might fool me and knock Khan out cold...
What say you now sir? :lol1:
Which are the next pick em fights? ------- licking lips :boxing:
I see that Stanionis vs Butaev is a new addition for May - any in the next 2 weeks?
This weekend we have Taylor vs Catterall, Colbert vs Garcia and Okolie vs Cieslak... but I don't know if they're usable for the Pick Em.
Can someone tell me why this fight was for 12 rounds

My only guess is that they wanted to gain fan interest in Khan getting slaughtered for 12 if it went the distance.
dont make early predictions what i've learned
I usually decide my definitive pick right after the weigh-in, typically after thinking all week. :lol1:
However, I will admit that this particular time my last-minute change was influenced by Cliff Rold's Stats And Stakes article. Generally, he's spot-on... not this time. My bad... 40 points and a x5 thrown away just like that.
Brook did look good at the weigh-ins, 2 extra pounds and he started drinking right on the scales, almost, missed that event, dont make early predictions what i've learned
Guard at least one x5 for Joshua-Usyk2, Joshua will be a slight favorite
Well, that's what you get when you have made a logical choice, but just decide to flush logic down the toilet. Wasting a x5 on Khan equals my x5 for Breazeale vs Wallin last year.
At least I made a few bucks with Brook by KO in the sixth... Logic was not entirely discarded, after all :lol1:
Are you now talking with yourself?? Madman!!! Lol
Late demand off team Khan apparently, at least according to Kell. He says they were trying to unsettle him all week, even claims they sent people knocking on his door in the middle of the night to mess with his sleep.:dunno:

Well he didn’t rattle Brook enough
What the hell was the glove gate in the ring? Never seen!

“The timing was still there. We did all the demands. I had to put different gloves on in the ring. He said he wasn’t happy with my gloves.
“They said they wouldn’t pay me unless I put those gloves on. I did all I had to do and I still took him apart. They did it all week, they pushed and poked at me, trying to get in my head.

Tatabanya, Khan, DEC, close (x5)
OK, I have changed my mind thrice now. Yesterday after the weigh-in I had decided to pick Brook by KO. However, I woke up this morning willing to risk something, either a draw or Khan via decision with a x5. So I chose the latter. Get ready with those tomatoes... :lol1:

changing my mind from being 99% sure Brook splatters him to:
Khan KO mid x5
Khan David Haye’d us brother. :lol1:
I spunked my x5 on the exact same pick haha.
I saw your pick in the fight thread, man. if you want to be in this year I got no problem with including a KO Mid pick and sticking you on the leaderboard although I'd need to confirm with the rest of the CREW.
I know you've played in at least a couple of the last few years but you usually don't pick often enough to be seriously in the running. If you're interested it's probably not quite to late yet for you to have a shot at a prize position, although anyway this shit's more about just getting involved and having a bit of fun with it.
I'll check in with asgarth @ mammoth and NC Uppercut - what you think gents? should eco's pick from the FBF thread be allowed to stand? He is a returning player and I reckon the more the merrier but it is also slightly irregular.
Oh do not worry, I just do it for fun!
If I ever decide to play for real I'll donate whatever the winner wins, LOL.
Thank you CK!!!!
Lol I'm bout ready to throw in the towel this year already
Ahh, my brother don’t get too hard on yourself. I’ve had horrible years where I’ve turned it around.. you got it
