It was man... 80 points right there and I don't think I ever seen you so close to the top of the table before just cos you pick so sporadically. Reckon if you were a bit more consistent this year you're in with as a good a shot as anyone.:boxing:
Yeah I notice that sometimes I forget to do research on a fight if I’m not too familiar with the background of the boxers or a fight actually starts earlier than I anticipate or I’m just too busy to look at the pick ‘ems for the week.
Sometimes I’ll look and hesitate like, “hmm, idk who to choose.” And then I won’t make a pick cuz I’m not sure. Then I’ll just completely forget later and miss it lmao!
And I thought my X2 was good.

Gotta say it’s a nice view from the top.
I might just kick back abit watch all the stragglers try keep up.
lol.
Seriously, man - you do deserve it.
As I wrote to YoungManRumble before, one has to pick smart, also considering the fight's background and environment besides the fighters. Those who did (like your good self) were more far-sighted than us, who based our pick on the mere "X is a better fighter than Y" factor.
Then again, most of us have benefited from dubious decisions in the past, so all that remains is getting up from the knockdown and fight harder to get back to the top :boxing:
Correct. But, at the same time, Ryder didn't win more than three rounds of the second half. I could sit easier with a draw perhaps, but I do believe - as a neutral observer - that Ryder just didn't do enough to earn a decision.

b morph what’s up with not putting in all your picks?
You could be right beside me or in front bro.
You gotta do the full year to even get a sniff of the top cause too many dudes know their boxing on here to let a few slip.
He will be happy to read this :lol1:
Yeah, whereas yours truly fell from 4th to 127th or so in the space of a wrong draw pick and a robbery :lol1: :lol1:
It’s all good bro.
TBH I didn’t even watch this fight.
jacobs been boring me lately, so I’m glad he didn’t get the decision
His heart or something ain’t in it no more cause I know he can box with the best
No man, like many of us you picked the right winner here.
If anything, we all should have been a little smarter when considering the background... Ryder's been robbed in the past, the fight is in London, perhaps Jacobs doesn't want it anymore, blah blah blah... There you go. At the end of the day, I am blaming Jacobs. He's on a different level than Ryder, should have pursued a KO win.
Who's gonna catch BLASTER1 now?... 100% correct picks and a perfect x5 to start the season. Chapeau!
And I thought my X2 was good.
Early days yet... seen bigger leads than Blasters broken down in a few weeks.
He will be happy to read this :lol1:
And ha ha... whilst I fully agree that Ryder shouldn't have got the nod Ima take my points and run, call it a karmic balancing for getting screwed outta my x5 on Mchunu.:lol1:

Just another L to include for me!
lol
I’ll gladly swallow an L but not by yesterday’s standards
That was fughin horrible and then you realize how ignorant people are to the sport and regulations of the sport

It is OK. Sometimes it's hard to gauge the match correctly and for today I saw it as I saw it, maybe tomorrow it will be different. I saw three clear round to Ryder in the second half and some of them close.
I try not to dwell on it too much as lots of time the scoring in boxing is subjective. So thanks for the discussion and good luck with next Pick Ems :)
I always think about Jacobs as a boxer, who thinks he is better than he is, which costs him in some close moments. I also find him arrogant, but that is maybe because of what he said to Rosado after that bad announcement at the end of their match, which somehow stayed with me.
For this match, I had Ryder winning first two close rounds so I didn't see it was all Jacobs for the first six. It wasn't some dominant performance in the first half IMO.

Even Tris Dixon and John Dennen had Jacobs rightly winning.
In hindsight, all was set for Ryder to break his negative "I was robbed" spell. Jacobs' lack of urgency in the second half made the task easier.
Anyhow, Jacobs is finished as far as top level is concerned.

Don't know if I have been caught up in my bias but commentary was pretty extremely pro-Jacobs IMO. Many times I didn't know what they were even talking about. Good job Ryder!

Lol I think last year was an anomaly cause I am dog**** at this now

Boooooooooooo!!!!
And Boooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! (x10) :lol1:
What a highway robbery. I thought Italy and Germany could not be beaten in that department, but the UK has definitely set new standards for home cooking.
Having said that, Jacobs is now to be considered officially done.
