He’s a “star” in the UK, and it ends there.
He’s not popular here in the states.
My thoughts on why I don’t find him interesting, maybe others can relate.
He looks like Humpty Dumpty with that big fat belly waste of his. Has a massive waste size. Just doesn’t look athletic at all, his aesthetic is the next level above Andy Ruiz, barely.
Second, I can’t understand a damn word he says with that fast talking gypsy accent.
Third, he just doesn’t have a likable personality, strikes me as obnoxious. He thinks he’s some charismatic star, and you almost believe it, until you realize he can’t draw flies without Wilder here in the states.
Fourth, he’s a dancer and jabber in the ring. Not really bringing out any fond memories we have of the 90’s heavyweight scene where we had ruthless punchers taking each other’s heads off.
It also doesn’t help that Canelo is in his prime, stealing the boxing spotlight from everyone, putting even the heavyweights in a shadow. He might have a bit more star power if there was a void, without Canelo.
I will say I enjoyed his demolition of Wilder, as Wilder is a delusional skill-less boxer, with annoying fans, but it ends there.
If Fury has earned 15x more than Whyte in recent fights, it is appropriate to modify the split from 70/30 to 80/20.
Let's be very clear that is your opinion, not a statement of fact.
The WBC have chosen to move away from their usual process and their rules and regulations in setting the split for this fight.
It could be argued that it would also have been appropriate for them to order at 70/30 or better given that's what their regulations say. Of course Fury would disagree and, indeed, he did disagree that a standard split should apply.
Whether the process the WBC followed was appropriate is for an arbitrator to decide.

- - What UK grade level U in?
Flubber fled the Wlad Rematch and ultimately the UK after AJ made epic sell out stadium fights the new standard.
Deyonce was more low laying fruit level that he's at where he could guarantee a decent harvest of peanuts as compared to the pound notes AJ was printing at his own mint.
I’m honestly surprised with his big personality that he’s not a PPV star, but that’s how I see it.
He’s missing something, that’s not allowing him to be a global star.
He doesn’t have to be American, just has to have that little something about him.
So how does a guaranteed of 5.5 million make sense outside someone’s contract ? That’s like saying a champion is guaranteed a huge amount so they can always do 80/20 splits . I bet Whyte gets 25 at the end of the day because I don’t believe they can use guaranteed purses against another fighter . It’s all lowballing tactics .
If Fury has earned 15x more than Whyte in recent fights, it is appropriate to modify the split from 70/30 to 80/20.
Couldn’t disagree more…and I typically agree with your points!
The guy is a born star….I mean, he has one of the most popular boxer’s name (Mike Tyson), he won most fans over due to his mental health struggles, yes….he’s obnoxious but, isn’t that the American way? :lol1:
He’s obnoxious but warming in the same breath. I wouldn’t doubt if this man is the karaoke king at this point. When guys carry on like him, they usually find their way into the homes, hearts and heads of fans….good, bad or indifferent
One thing I can say is, he completely stripped Wilder of whatever he’s earned in the sport and it’s not hard to tell. I’m fact, Beyoncé Wildher became more of a prick over the course of their 3 battles. Lol. Wilder was able to draw a crowd…that much I will agree with. He just didn’t behave like a champ when things didn’t go his way.
Fury’s alright with me. Yeah, maybe he doesn’t sell as much as he’s leading us to believe but the dude has a place here in the States for sure! I’ll look further into your points without the intent of disproving them simply because I didn’t agree at first glance.
I’m shocked you even remember my posts lol. I have such a basic, computer generated name. Feel like an anonymous fly on the wall in this place.
You make some valid points, but I still feel he falls short of being a draw.
The man can box, and can be a vital piece of entertainment, but must have a big name dance partner.
So,did he make 30 miles or not ?
Yes. His guarantee for the 2nd Wilder fight was $28,000,000 and his guarantee for the 3rd Wilder fight was $30,000,000.

I'm actually puzzled why he isn't a star in the UK and Joshua is. Seems like Fury is a better fighter with a bigger personality.
Because he's a lying, gypsy moron from a family of disgusting criminal low-life? He's trash in and out of the ring.
So what’s the excuse for claiming he made 30 million because that never happened .
That was his real guarantee for his last fight, but the WBC split is based off filed purses. So $6 million Fury vs $400 thousand Whyte.
Whyte fought Povetkin in front of no fans ,Fury fought for the world championship ?:nono:
When the sanctioning bodies look at recent purses, they analyze the amount you declared. They don't make excuses for why you didn't make more.
The third Wilder fight was undoubtedly lucrative. The Nevada State Athletic Commission revealed the prize money stood at $10m between the two fighters, with Fury taking $6m of the pot.
Thats from the athletic commission not a made up article. Fury making 30 million ?:nono:
Yes, Fury's filed purse was $6,000,000, compared to Whyte's filed purse of $400,000. Fury's filed purse was 15x higher, hence the 80/20 purse bid split.
Everyone’s afraid of Ortiz so much they are afraid to fight Hrgovic in fear Ortiz will beat them up for making him look bad . :scared:
Yet Wilder (a fighter you degrade) knocked Ortiz out not once but twice.
Fury doesn’t defend titles how is he the number one heavyweight ? Like I said he’s only number one if you put Wilder number two which is a reminder he’s the arguably the worst heavyweight of all time . Doesn’t make much sense does it since Furys reputation is built of that .
So every CREDIBLE boxing publication, analyst, and expert is wrong and you’re right. Got it..........
He’s a “star” in the UK, and it ends there.
He’s not popular here in the states.
Whyte has 400,000 followers on instagram. Fury has 5,400,000 followers on instagram. That is the difference between a UK star and a worldwide star.
Whyte made a couple million for his last fight. Fury made $30,000,000 for his last fight. That is the difference between a UK star and a worldwide star.
I would not describe Tyson Fury as a dancer and jabber these days 'He does not use movement anywhere near to the level as he did pre-comeback'.
Most of the reasons you have given, for him not being a star. Are some of the reason why certain demographics of people will revere him.
Tyson Fury as tapped into a market of people wanting a certain type of champion. And some of those people are also in America. For the second Wilder fight, I can remember seeing people from the deep south of America supporting Tyson Fury 'They had traveled all the way to support him'.
Fury doesn’t defend titles how is he the number one heavyweight ? Like I said he’s only number one if you put Wilder number two which is a reminder he’s the arguably the worst heavyweight of all time . Doesn’t make much sense does it since Furys reputation is built of that .
- - Ring and all the rating echo chambers be riding Flubber Fury into their sunsets...
The only fighter I've ever heard say that Fury isn't a very talented heavyweight was Sanchez last week. Other than that, both fighters and trainers seem unanimous that he is very good indeed.
You can only say Fury is this all time great if you rate Wilder high . The U.S media made out to be Wilder as the greatest power puncher feared guy but you were fooled , if Klitschko was American you know Wilder would be labeled a bum before you guys fell for the media hype .
I didn’t say Fury was an all time great, so don’t put words in my mouth. What I did say is that Fury is the #1 hwt today. Are you disputing that? Klitschko? Fury beat him too! Hilariously dumb argument.
