I think the Makabu fight is better than the negative reception it got by fans and I'm still interested in that one. Charlo > Makabu all day as far as big fights go for sure. And yeah, Charlo can compete with Canelo.
Yeah regardless of what level we think Makabu is he’s still a champion in a division 32 lbs above. I’d expect Canelo to be way too skilled but it’s still carries some risk fighting a much naturally bigger dude.
Canelo’s in that Floyd position now where people are gonna complain whoever he fights. There’s always gonna be somebody he’s “ducking”.
I think Canelo will go to CW after he's done handling business at LHW. He can't get the fights he wants at LHW at the moment and quite frankly, they aren't big sellers so he is just taking a fight with Charlo that will give him another 40M+ payday. This is a good fight, but one Canelo should win fairly clearly. Charlo looked drained as hell last fight so a move up is good for him. He's not going to be moving around so we should be getting some fireworks. Will be very impressive if Canelo can stop Charlo, who to my knowledge has never been dropped? Or at least not since he got to world level.
I think it’ll be a distance fight. I think Charlo will push him backwards in spots and give him some problems. I’ve got Canelo by UD though. I think his September fight will be at 175. I think it might be vs Beterbiev too.
I'd like to see it. My guess is Charlo will benefit from the move to SMW. In his last few fights, he showed some weakness to the body which I would probably attribute to cutting down to 168, and that cut may have affected other aspects of his game.
I think his jab and style may pose some problems to solve for Canelo but I expect Canelo to ultimately get to that body. Something tells me this will end up being a violent, nasty affair. Not necessarily an all out slug fest but a fight with tense, menacing moments and one that will see Canelo get a little more vicious in ending it in the latter part of the fight.
My only concern is that based on what I have seen from Charlo as of late is that he has slowed down as far as his speed is concerned. He is not that old so I am not sure if he is just not as dedicated as he once was to staying in tip top shape.Moving to 168 I only see him being slower.
That said it is still a good match up if it happens but there are other opponents I would rather see Canelo fight. But no major complaints from me.
Charlo has never fought nobody. What makes you think he is any kind of threat to Canelo?
His win over Dervy imo was a good win/performance as Dervy was competitive with both GGG and Jacob's. I feel his size, power and very good jab will present Canelo with more issues than the likes of Plant or Saunders. He isn't going to to have as easy of time walking down a bigger puncher like Mall down as he did them. If Mall can press a little more offensively than he has shown,we're in for a great fight.

Looks like Canelo may be staying at SMW a bit longer.
- - I hear U and Charlene more than a little light in the pugilistic loafers.
Charlo has a couple of decent wins but he had a real hard time with Korobov a counter puncher. Charlo don't press no more and waits for the fight to come to him. I guess for the options that Canelo has this is not that bad.
I feel like LH has a lot of unfinished business up there with Smith/Bivol/Beterbiev even though Smith already fought Bivol. Canelo with Makabu or Charlo was my go to for 2022 so I’m a happy camper either way.
Canelo probably moves to LH in 2023
Yea,it be great to get Bivol vs Beter but good ole Bob already shot that down. Bob is hoping to land that one last payday for himself before Beters retirement.
Canelo vs Charlo is hell of a lot better/competitive fight than a potential Makabu fight. If I had my way it look like this as far as preferable Canelo fights..
Bivol>Beter>Charlo>Ben>Joe>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Makabu.
Yeah the Cruiserweight move is interesting but Charlo > Makabu all day.
I don’t think he’ll win but I think Charlo will be a lot more competitive than people think.

I will never get my hopes up when Charlos involved. But this fight seems like a no brainer for both guys to make,& I'm sure Haymon will make Showtime very happy.
Charlo is clearly at the stage where he's only willing to cash in v Alvarez & nobody else, even ggg. I think Charlo fights Canelo, loses, then fights Andrade afterwards as a tune up to clear his name, then he'll fight Benevidez & retire.
It’s a good fight as the Canelo haters have said he’s been ducking him which is ridiculous.
Canelo beats both Charlo brothers asses in the same night.
Yea, if this fight happens, one more thing they can stfu about.
Which fighters at LHW has Canelo not been able to secure?

Fight shouldve happened at 160 tbh. Thats where jt meant the most. But if Alvarez is staying at smw, he SHOULD be fighting David Ben as well. PERIOD.
Yea,would've nice to see try and become undisputed at 160 but that ship sailed long ago. Tthere's nothing left at 160 for Mall if he continues to stay on his side of the "street" so why not. It's the best and most lucrative fight for him against anyone by far so why not. The guys massive so it's not like he's going in handicapped there. I'd venture to say he's probably still bigger than Canelo.
First genuine threat for Canelo since GGG if true. Mall is a huge Middleweight so going up to 168 shouldn't be an issue at all. Let's hope there's some truth to this as it's a great fight.
