He seems to be able to get top guys in the ring at a higher rate than other promoters--less politics.
Seems more genuine about getting the best fighting the best
Is he the best? Well that depends on how you define the best. But Eddie is definitely doing things no other promoter is doing. The guy puts on fight cards worldwide on a worldwide platform at a decent prize. Any other promoter building stars from different parts of the world?
All but one of your examples were incorrect.
No semantics here, you were wrong. Get over it.
You asked for examples of Hearn working with other promoters to make big fights and I gave you some.
Well he has recently taken and risk and stepped outside his comfort zone, and left his Sky platform.
I don't really think DAZN is having the impact he would of thought, but he is giving it a go.
You have to put the promoters who have been in this game for decades above Eddie Hearn, as they have been successful in many other era's 'And had to continually adapt themselves'.
I think he’s passionate about the sport but as a business man/ promoter, he kinda sucks. He is just playing games with what his father built. Good for him
The conversation was about Eddie Hearn working with other promoters to make big fights, and I gave you some good recent examples of that happening. You then used semantics to make appear that the conversation was about something else.
All but one of your examples were incorrect.

These guys need to start thinking about joining DAZN. The clock is ticking.
Everyone was approached, some thought about it, most were offered way less than they were already making, so they stayed with PBC.
Those who did choose to leave, like Jesse Vargas or Mikey Garcia, have had their careers completely fall apart.
Shirley Winkel's silly feminine negotiating tactics is being rehashed again. I see.
In reality, the amount of offers skyrocketed because of Hearn throwing astronomic figures.
Deontay's purse in the Ortiz 1 was $2 mil. His highest paycheck.
It was clear the figures went through the roof because like any subscription-based
content provider it starts with spending billions of $$$. Meaning, the value of any fight,
ie, Wilder vs Joshua was not based on its size via PPV route. In fact, the size was arbitrary.
Showtime then was forced to overpay Wilder thinking that they have a Mike Tyson revival in their network.
In the end, Espinoza had had enough of it, "Wilder vs Ortiz 2 PPV didn't make sense for us."
Hence, Wilder became a FOX fighter rather than a Showtime one. It's comical.
What fans don't realize is that PBC's stars fight infrequently because they want to fight infrequently. If they wanted to fight more, they'd fight more. They don't want to.
Yeah, that may be true. But not all in the PBC stable are "stars."
Lower-level ones like Lubin wanted so much to get back in the ring.
Gausha who had spectacular win in his last fight yet he's never seen again for a long while now.
So many PBC fighters have been sitting on the shelves wasting their primes or whatever is left.
Danny Garcia, Broner, Leo Santa Cruz, Luis Ortiz, Martin, Lara, and many others.
These guys need to start thinking about joining DAZN. The clock is ticking.
Accept the offer first, then we'll discuss the details. You have 48 hours before the offer is withdrawn.
When Hearn offered 12.5 million, his offer included the same exact deadline before the offer was withdrawn. Wilder put the same deadline as a fuck you to Hearn. Nobody takes those deadlines seriously.
But yes, in boxing, you agree in principle on the purse first, and then you hammer out the other details.
It's like asking which STD is the best one to catch.
Id go with chlamydia as its curable and not something that sticks with you like herpes or HIV.
But you right, none of them are any good
This is a troll tactic. Something is clearly true and you just label it "bull****" and pretend that means you don't have to address it. Espinoza is a high ranking Showtime executive. Showtime is owned by ViacomCBS, which is a publicly traded company. Espinoza would not lie and say Showtime was backing the $50 million offer if they weren't. That would be illegal and he could get in a lot of trouble for that. Clearly Showtime was serious about putting up the $50 million. They've put up a lot more than that for other fights and there's no reason to believe they're lying.
That is how boxing works. You agree in principle on the purse and then you negotiate the smaller details. Until there is an agreement on purse, nobody is going to waste their time arguing over who walks first, which beer sponsors the show, what size the ring is, etc. Nobody delves into that stuff until everyone is on the same page about the purse.
When Hearn offered Wilder 12.5 million if Wilder's side said "well we refuse to tell you if we're willing to accept 12.5 million, but we'd like to set up a meeting to discuss the color of the ring canvas," Hearn would tell them to **** off and rightly so.
Eddie Hearn is a con artist who has convinced UK fans that he's giving them insight into how fights are negotiated, when he's really just brainwashing you. Eddie knows very well that a meeting is a waste of time if there's no agreement in principle on the purse.

Is that how big fights are made? No wonder Wilder spent most of his career fighting scrubs for peanuts in Alabama bingo halls.
Semantics? :lol1:
You were WRONG kid. Take the L and move on.

That bullshit from Espinoza again?

Here is the text of an email sent by Finkel to Eddie Hearn, telling Eddie that AJ has to accept the offer before they will sit down with him and discuss the details.

Ahhh,……who cares. I think he’s more of a straight shooter though. I could give a fook about ranking promoters. Some people do I guess.
if i had meant eddie hearn, i would have said eddie hearn. eddie isn't in charge.
:lol1: :lol1:
Literally none of those AJ fights were legitimate co-promotions you dumb f***.

Read it and weep son…
Oh and Spence vs the Quitter. Also not a legitimate co-promotion. :lol1:
https://boxrec.com/en/event/748356
Once again, read it and weep.
The only one that was technically a co-promotion was Canelo vs Smith as it was co-promoted with Canelo Promotions, but in reality that’s just Eddie working with a non-Matchroom fighter rather than a rival promotional outfit.
If you need to resort to semantics to score points in a debate, you have already lost.
if i had meant eddie hearn, i would have said eddie hearn. eddie isn't in charge.
Eddie lied to you. The key details had been sent in a three page term sheet. The Wilder side didn't meet with Eddie because Eddie refused to confirm whether the key details were acceptable, and that the purpose of the meeting would be to see if they could start working out further details. If the meeting was just for Hearn to say thank you for the offer but here's my counter proposal to bring Wilder to the UK, then the meeting is a waste of time. Haymon doesn't waste time.
You've been brainwashed by Eddie Hearn. The head of Showtime Sports publicly confirmed the $50 million offer was legit, that Sky would have UK rights, and even posted a screen shot of the contract that confirmed Sky would get the UK rights. Eddie is a con artist and you fell for it.
That bullshit from Espinoza again?

No point lying about it. The truth is out there.
Here is the text of an email sent by Finkel to Eddie Hearn, telling Eddie that AJ has to accept the offer before they will sit down with him and discuss the details.
"BoxingScene.com has obtained the below email that Finkel sent to Hearn earlier today."
"Dear Eddie,
With all due respect you know Al and I for a long time and you know this is not a publicity stunt. I assure you that we’re serious and we would be glad to sit down with you and provide proper security for the funding and work out all the details.
But it all has to start with Anthony Joshua accepting the $50million offer that he asked for, which is also by far the largest guarantee and largest purse any heavyweight champion in history has ever made.
Until then, it would be non-productive to meet. Please have Anthony accept the offer that he asked for and let’s get this fight made.
Thanks, Shelly"

I have no problem. He's been putting on pretty decent fights actually. I mean, some of his top talent got upset (AJ, Lopez) so that is a good enough reason to know, his guys aren't fighting entirely stiffs. I also like his demeanor during interviews. I know it is mostly promoter talk and you can't take it all to heart, but he speaks mostly with what you already know or heard regarding fighters being tied up or the politics of boxing where this guy can't fight that guy because of where they stand.
Listen, I hated the guy in the beginning and thought he was going to ruin boxing by keeping his guys safe (at least AJ at the time), but he's proven me wrong lately and I can appreciate that.
