It's so obvious that Loma decided to chill after he hurt Commey. He likes Commey a lot and didn't want to brutalize him. Everyone loves Commey. He would even chill and give away the last 10 seconds of every round.
And then you see these clowns on here comparing him to Teofimo's second round KO. His victory was the best out of ALL of the lightweights this weekend, notwithstanding Kambosos.
It's so amusing seeing all of these jealous haters on here because he makes their favorite boxers look like ****.

Why did you ignore what I said in bold? Of course Roy and Floyd were arrogant. The difference is we didn’t see fans and media alike trying to force the “nice/humble guy” image on them. They were painted as arrogant while Loma is painted as this good guy who’s all about respect. He was showboating against commey. He wasn’t showing mercy he was being cautious. He wanted the ref to give him the tko instead of earning the ko. This talking point that he was concerned about commey’s health or well being is a lie. He was throwing hellacious shots trying to get commey out of there but he was still wary of commey’s power. He wasn’t willing to risk enough to get the knock out. It’s that simple.
I’ve never seen one person try to spin the Mayweather-Marquez fight as Floyd showing mercy and caring about Marquez’s health/well being. Y’all sound silly.
You may believe that. But Loma himself stated that he thought Commey was taking unnecessary punishment. It was obvious that he was trying to land one big punch later on, rather than throwing an accumulation of punches. But credit to Commey for his strong recovery. I think had Loma jumped on him like Teofimo had, the ref and corner would have stopped it much as they did with Commey fought Lopez.
I think there was a blend of showboating and genuine respect/concern for Commey because I've never seen two guys laugh and joke during both stare offs. That was a bit different. It was obvious that both guys liked and respected each other.
Have you ever seen a ref throwing the white towel back out of the ring? i have, a few times, some recent. In most championship fights, only the ref can stop the fight. Sometimes they add the corner, or the doctor (only if the ref consults with the doctor). Consider that an education, and on your way boxing expert.
Yes, and that is completely fine. However, for the most part if the corner throws in the towel or steps in the ring the fight is over. So, you're statement of, "only the ref can stop the fight" in essence is incorrect. It's pretty straight forward. I don't argue just for the sake of arguing. It's basic comprehension.
If you didn't know that the corner could also stop a boxing fight at this stage of the game then I have to question every other post you have made in regards to boxing.
Also, you keep saying that Loma was trying to get the ref to stop the fight but what I saw was him trying to get Commey's corner to stop the fight which is well within the rules. And I mean the corner has the right to stop the fight.

Some refs would take Loma's theatrics offensive.
It's against the rules. Only the ref can halt or stop the action.

Yeah true speech. Commey is useless though. The sparring wars over the years have finally taken its toll. Loma fought well as was expected of an opponent that was recently knocked out in 2 rounds
Exactly. I'd love to see Cruz tune up on Commey. One thing I know is Commey is better or at the same level as Kambosos. I honestly don't see anything, ANYTHING, special about Kambosos. Says a lot about Lopez.
It's a fight, man, leave your compassion at home. Loma fanboys would have been in an uproar if Commey came back and beat his ass. That would have been another monumental excuse. Loma has already made a lot of BS excuses in each of his 2 losses.

No i hear you its the referee's job to referee the fight but its funny to hear someone get riled up by another boxer showing compassion for his opponent and you want him disqualified:cool2:. You much rather Commey goes out like Wilder on his shield?..

Why laugh? It's against the rules. You can't take the rules into your own hand and demand a fight be stopped. It was distasteful as well. He should've been warned the first time and disqualified the second.

I disagree, I think the round he dropped him he took his foot off the gas which was kind of lame begging the corner to get him a KO when Comey was still throwing back. But the subsequent rounds, commey was alert again and still throwing hard shots so loma did what he always does is box him strategically. Commey is much larger, much stronger, hits harder, still had power late rounds ect.
Yeah loma intentionally didnt go balls out late rounds but not for the reasons they are claiming. Comey regained his balance and was alert. Getting outboxed and losing each round but still in the fight throwing. They act like Loma could have stopped him at any point with one or two shots. Yeah I think Loma prob could have forced a stoppage if he went for it but there is risk that comes with that too.
You've been off your rocker since Tank struggled and Haney and Loma cruised along
Poor guy. Loma ain't crap. Almost a decade of overhype and the guy doesn't have ONE career defining fight (maybe Russell at 126, eons ago). Sad.
:lol1::lol1::lol1::lol1::lol1:

Well, I've never seen that happen before but there are examples of what Loma has done. Like someone referencing Roy Jones in this very thread and Tyson Fury in the Chisora rematch comes to mind. There are a couple more on the tip of my tongue I can't quite grasp right now too. Usually I'm good at remembering stuff like this.
I've seen a couple too. It's not OK. Only the ref can stop the fight.
You can't demand a ref to stop a fight unless you yourself are quitting.
You can absolutely get disqualified for that kinda lame BS.
With that POS, he did it twice, unpunished.
The people pointing out that the shot that put commey down was borderline are correct also. Won’t say it was “dirty” but he definitely with commey’s hands down when they were coming out of a clinch/break. Again, I won’t fault Loma for taking advantage of that opportunity but it’s another thing that goes against the image being portrayed by fans/media.
So you think Mayweather is arrogant? Do you think Roy Jones Jr. is arrogant? If someone else did that would you be saying the same thing? Why did you ignore what I said in bold? Y’all sound silly. It’s BS like this that makes Loma fans and media alike so loathsome. It’s the fake humility when he’s really very arrogant, prone to showing his opponents up when he gets the chance. Now personally I have no issues with the cocky showboating types as long as they own it. Loma sorta like pacquiao is a fake nice guy. He, his fans along with the media like to push this image that he’s this humble little guy who respects everyone and just wants to fight. Nah.
He was showing commey up with those 2 stunts where he stopped fighting in the middle of the ring to point and try and what commey, his corner and the ref should do.

Yeah. Exactly. And also, I think something similar with Manny and Margarito. Or Manny and Algieri, where Manny went easy on them or tried to get them to stop the fight. Something like that.
You can't stop in the middle of a fight and also tell the ref to stop it, unless you are quitting. It's against the rules and Loma should've been penalized 2 points.
