There's nothing about Makabus weight but it's on Dazn news and I think they're putting their foot in the shallow end here without actually saying the stipulations of the contract
Maybe I'm completely wrong im surprised nobody has posted this

This isn't news. Canelo said this whole speech at the WBC gathering wearing that grey suit. He is saying his body won't be 200lbs on fight night. Not even RJJ hit that against John Ruiz. If I recall, Roy was like 193lbs just pure muscle. Roy is bigger than Canelo. Also much has to do with preference. Canelo is he prefers to operate around 180lbs in the ring and instead of performing at 200lbs, not that he can't be that weight. Canelo would be slower of course. Adding 20lbs more muscle to where he operating on KOvalev fight night could affect his performance of course, primarily because he's a power puncher, so his tank would deplete even faster - and that's aside from his general mobility.
In one fight, Marquez weighed in on a Pac scale at 143lbs whereas Pac was 147. these are preferences from the fighters.
The other orgs don't acknowledge Bridgerweight and the WBC was going to amend Cruiser to 190. I'm sure it was Sulaiman who had advised Reynoso of this. So, if Makabu comes in at 190lb whereas Canelo is like 182lbs, expect Canelo already filled and the same as fight night, whereas Makabu will probably be limited to 10lbs for the morning and then whatever on fight night. So Makabu will be about 200lbs on fight depending on how much he ate and drank from the morning limit.
Basically a 180lb fighter vs 200lb fighter for a Cruiserweight title. 200lb is the classic limit. What's the point of the uproar from Bitterman Mike? :)
Hey you could be right and it might only be about canelos weight and not Makabus
He might have no stipulations for Makabus weight ..I'm guessing we will al find out soon enough
Let's not forget clen is working with Eddie
The headline with catchweight in it raises eyebrows as if they're testing the waters to see what kind of backlash they will get without confirming what the weight stipulations will be
When was the last time Makabu weighed in at 200lbs?
In his last fights he's been as low as 193lbs, so a 3lb drop won't make him into a walking corpse. He's got plenty of time to prepare.
Clenelo will weigh in around 180 and KO another champion in his prime. :boxing:
I was thinking Makabu will be forced to fight at around the 185 mark
Imo, Canelo will try to bring Makabu down to 185lbs, 190lbs at the very least, the morning of the fight.
I expect him to be around 183lbs.
If Makabu is out of this range he gets a small payday.

Reminder that Pacquiao forced Cotto and drained him to fight at 145lbs catchweight. Drained Margarito at 150lbs catchweight.
Those catchweights manny had were 4 lbs max and 2lbs for cotto ..this fight with Makabu could be anything up to 20 lbs
Most likely 10 lbs ,canelo is really looking to put on a show and stop the corpse of Makabu in devasting fashion and the Clen fanboys will all be there with their tongues out whilst playing with their peck3rs

Didn't margarito fight his two fights prior to cotto and mosley at 147?
Edit: nope you're right he fought at 154 two fights before and 147 against only cotto
Either way aren't people already hyping up the Makabu fight as a great achievement?
Not only is Makabu a weak fighter who was dominated and stopped in 3 by bellew who looked leagues above him excluding Makabus single punch knockdown but now with a catchweight agreement possibly in play we should be calling a spade a spade ....
This is a gimmick fight and even more so with a catchweight
