Of course it's one person's take but all three of these guys resumes are pretty average.
Smith's best win was Groves, BJS' best was probably Lemieux and Plant's top win was Uzcategui. Pretty thin stuff.
No dis to Alvarez, you have to fight the guys they put in front of you but the boxing hype train is off the rails.
These were good wins against decent fighters but hardly memorable.
None of them could punch or had any heart. BJS had 3 fights at 168 , winning a vacant title off a can with no wiki, and hes apparently a notable Canelo win? This is the weakest undisputed champ ever.
So the simple fact a fighter Canelo dominated is fighting at a higher weight now, demonstrates it was an amazing win? Nice logic lol. Smith is nothing, just a passive euro bum, like BJS.
It's a mark of greatness when people clutch at such straws to diminish the achievements of a fighter.
One thing I find is that when you look at alot of good fighters' resumes under a microscope, they can look less than impressive. It's not just this era either. You have to rely on the eye ball test as well.
Fact is they were all undefeated opponents with decent to good wins on their records and they all presented different styles and challenges. They were either belt holders or fighting for belts. Canelo handled all of them with ease and/or stopped them, taking their "0".
Going a step further to look at some potential opponents' resumes. Benavidez best wins are probably Gavril, Dirrell and Ellis. Charlo has Derevyenchenko, Korobov, Trout and J Rock. Zurdo has Hart and Barrera. Anything that really stands out? Maybe not but they would still be great wins in my opinion.

Aren't impressive? are you joking did you see how he walked down and demolished Smith who is now fighting at LHW? this was one of the most impressive wins in Canelo resume.
Saunders and Plant were both undefeated fighters and he stopped them both.
The performance against Smith will age like fine wine i expect especially if he gets a title at LHW.
