Two wheigt champion, fought 12 world champions in USA, Argentina, Ireland, UK, France, South Africa, Japan, every where, and 14 years after knock Bernard Dunne in Dublin for the upset of the year in Dublin, he just left Kid Galahad on his way to hospital to another upset of the year. And some crazy wars in the middle, Hasegawa vs Kiko or te first frampton fight are underrated classics.
I lost money betting on Galahad by KO, but was sincerely happy to see Kiko become a beltholder again after I had considered him finished.
Then again... the loss against Zelfa Barrett had been controversial, and Kid Galahad struggled at the weight. The signs were there if one had paid attention. My bad, and hats off to the little monk!
Man I remember being astounded by his KOing Hasegawa what feels like a lifetime ago!
I didn't watch the fight yesterday because I figured he was too long in the tooth. Wrong! What a peach of a shot he hit Galahad with.
Thats my fav of Kiko, Hasegawa had like 20 defenses of the bantam belt and later was a champion too, the best win of Kiko.
But the most astonishing fact is he fought 12 wolrd champions, and only one in Spain, that´s pretty crazy.
