If by some dimensional gateway you could create a single boxing ring that half exists each in 2 different locations - in this case half in cardiff with calzaghes cheating pal ref and half in Germany with Otkke's cheating pal ref - who wins? And by how?
True, and I have to contradict myself here as I always ask people not to make excuses for a fight lost, or won... But Hopkins, at the very twilight of his career, basically schooled Joe a few times, including knocking him on his duff... and just at some point may have not been able to match the sheer volume of Calzaghe... I do believe a younger Hopkins would have taught Joe more than a few more tricks in the square Circle and had Joe's father busting a few more arteries... Joe knew when to fight em!
likely would have stopped Joe if joe hadnt gone for lowblow staright after.
I get why hopkins decided to cheat more in that fight after Joe started it just to survive.
If both fighters hadnt cheated at all, the fight would be Hopkins win KO1 or KO2.
The result of Joe facing his first elite (albeit aged) would be a 5 minute KO loss, then retirement. And Joe would have to live with everyone knowing why he avoided them all that time.
Joe went to America and beat Hopkins though.

tru, sven was a massive cheat, joe was less cheat. Still cheaty with his ref but nothing as bad as Sven, except mayeb the lowblow on hopkins to stop hopkins knocking him out in round 2.
Lol I feel like Joe definitely got some home cooking in some of his fights... Not as much as the German feasts Sven got, but definitely some.

thats an interesting one yes. What if we add time machine portal too. So half the time both fighters materialised into being 30 years old.
Joe was unable to win a valid title when he was 30 but Hopkins was at his peak.
SO Hopkins beats Joe handily in that.
maybe it depends on who needs to use the ring most.
Thing about Sven is he needed to run all the time, so he would keep running into the Welsh half of the ring.
That means he can be stopped by Joes welsh ref after Joe misses lots of blows, with Joe hitting the ref lots of times but the ref not noticing Joes weak punches (as happened in real life).
But ..if Sven can somehow stay in the German half, he can get his german ref to keep deducting points from Joe for hitting him... but it depends on Joe actually landing enough. Joe was notorious for wild swinging.
So its all about who runs and whatnot.
I am thinking that Sven doesnt really need to run from Joes weakazz punches... but then Joe doesnt need to avoid Sven either.
Calzaghe was actually good and also got the benefit of some home cooking.
Ottke was all smoke and mirrors and cherry picking.
Oh no Siree! Sven maybe wasn't much of a puncher, defender... didn't have footwork but he had people skills. Who else could convince a ref to penalize the opponent for hitting you in the face?

Easy... Ottke. His ref would penalize Joe for hitting Sven in the face.
