Fight Dillian Whyte while we wait for Usyk and AJ to settle their score.
After that Fury should unify with the winner of Usyk vs AJ.
This. No other logical path.
He should do whatever he wants.
And knowing Fury, that could mean any damn thing.
It wouldn't be a big deal to anyone but sportswriters and NSB posters if he dropped a title and decided to wait for the Usyk/Joshua winner.
Not sure that's true, gives the opportunity for the next fight to be Undisputed without him. He could get cut out himself.
I almost want to say it muddies the waters, but does it? He dropped the belt because he didn't want to fight his mandatory, in what would be a huge fight, so it would be hard to justify him number 1. At least that question mark will be there.

At this point, just fight Whyte. Usyk is tied up.
Fury is at his best when he’s active. Usyk v AJ is happening in March/April, so Fury v Usyk won’t happen until late next year.
Fury might as well take care of the mandatory as a keep busy fight while Usyk takes care of AJ again.
Really if he retired and had Wilder his sole title defense the Furys can’t actually claim to much,I also have a feeling Wilder will get banged up against a few guys . Fury isn’t the only one capable of beating Wilder ,A.J winning against Usyk in the rematch will make his resume that much better then Furys ,so Fury will be severely hurting his own career standings if he called it quits .
If he got a win over Whyte it would be the first time he had fought two legit proven guys back to back something AJ has been doing for years despite two bumps in the road .
Yeah I was being sarcastic ... the goat claim is a joke he needs to defend his title numerous times against top guys back to back for years to be an atg
Wilder was handed a belt and an abomination of a champion but people love to think he was some sort of George foreman for rolling over a bunch if stiffs
Dude needs to fight Whyte, rematch Wallin, fight AJ and Usyk as well. Maybe Joyce or DDD or one of the up and coming heavies too. Then he will be an ATG, but he wouldn’t be if he retired now. All he’s beat at this point is an old (but admittedly good) Klitschko once and gone 2-0-1 against this era’s super-hyped up knockout artist with tons of heart and admittedly less skill and stamina. And he didn’t even look that good in his last fight. He’s got a lot left to prove.
Fight Dillian Whyte of course. Who voted retire? Fury fans are the weirdest bunch.
John Fury just said AJ's team sucks what was that garbage advice, then comes out says "I wuold keep McCrackhead he saved AJs career, saved him from getting stopped"
Contradicting white trash as per usual
What do I see happening? Fury snorting everything in sight, feeding us the ooh i will retire waah waah mental illness gimmick and then coming back to fight Dillian Whyte after 20months in court with Whyte.
QueensburyRules voted retire.
Be interested to know why also.
For me, the only time I want a fighter to retire is when they are done or they no longer have the appetite for it. The last thing I want is to never see Tyson Fury in the ring again!
No reason Fury shouldn't fight for at least 5 years. Whyte is a big fight in the UK and the perfect homecoming. A fight with Joshua a few years down the line as his final UK fight could be there too. Plenty of big fights ahead and prospects coming through. Way too early to call it a day and I don't believe Fury intends too. Just because John Fury says so doesn't mean Tyson agrees. Nash out. Nash is a respected boxing expert.
Defend at least one championship against someone he never took it from
He is the goat after all
We all know what he's going to do though, pretend he wants to kill himself again and duck into retirement
:haha:
