Canelo out until May. Will his potential rivals take a risk in the meantime?

Canelo fans are shameless. We know you're hoping all these guys take each other out so Canelo can justify not fighting them. Let’s say Canelo beat three top-10 (at worst) guys at 168 to become undisputed (Smith, Saunders, Plant). Is it wrong to expect Charlo and Benavides to beat at least one top-10 guy? It’s not about taking each other out. It’s about building a legitimate buzz. You can sell the Charlo-Benavides winner as a bona fide B-side for a PPV.

The classic "But what about that other guy!" defense. :cool: I would love to see Canelo face Charlo, Benavides and Andrade. He can only fight one of them at a time though so why can’t we see Charlo-Benavides in the meantime? Or Charlo-Andrade? Is that so unreasonable? And if so, which one of those guys is more deserving than the others?

I've been saying that Beterbiev and Bivol should fight each other and unify. Then after that, unified 175 lb champ vs unified 168 lb champ becomes a juicier fight to sell to the masses. Canelo gonna hold up the whole division untill May... if he says he is moving to LHW he will hold up that division as well. Nobody will take a risk mark my words. Is Charlo just going to wait and hope he gets to have the Canelo chore? (Chore because we all know he's just being forced into this fight.) His last fight with Montiel was last June 19. (July, Aug, Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec. Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr...) Man, that's a lot of waiting. He could at least fight 1 more fight, yet he prefers to sit around and do nothing.
