No coincidence Ward retired the moment Callum Smith and Plant became champions at 168. He wanted no part of those two. And retired so it wouldnt be obvious he ducked them.
....Pahahaha
I think the Ward of the super 6 vs Canelo now...I'd take Ward by UD. Jab too quick and good, feet too good, and too much know how on the inside.
Now...Canelo would stop him, even at 175lb.
The judges and refferee will as usual be in Canelo's pocket. So Ward will not have a luxury of dirty fighting. I'm not sure that even a prime Ward will be able to beat Canelo. And in the somewhat even fight Canelo will get a decision. Just ask GGG.
canelo would batter him
plant fought to survive not to win, covered up most of the fight yet still got stopped. won 2 rounds at best if you are being generous
Several reasons it wouldn’t work now but as boring as I found him I’d pick Ward by decision in his prime. I say that with zero hesitation and as a big fan of Canelo.
If Ward was healthy, would be an interesting fight. Ward would certainly fight his fight, meaning dirty and grity. That would piss Canelo off. The question is... if Canelo would be able to overcome it... Canelo vs Ward would be very much like Kovalev vs Ward, either 1 or 2.
Do you think andre ward could come back and beat canelo??? At 168?? It would be one of the best wins ever if he could do it.
If he is 100000% serious and all in, yes. He could beat Nelo.
He knows Nelo won't be able to hurt him and he can probably bully Nelo.
If he's just seeking some cash, Nelo wins.
Ward would get stopped right now, not sure the Ward that fought Kovalev would survive this Canelo.
But Prime Ward was much bigger and he was a spoiler. We've not seen Canelo fight someone so dirty and annoying in the ring. Ward could frustrate you, not just his movement and punches, but elbows and grabbing and dirty stuff. Would've been a really good fight if he had anything left. Could've seen how Canelo would've handled that dirty boxing.
GGG fanboy spotted.
“Little G’ turned down an official fight with us,” Ward told the reporter. “The reality is for all the talk ... the proof is in the pudding. I have an email right now that shows we gave them what they want ... 50/50 ... and the man -- the promoter --turned it down, said maybe 2017.”

You just spam the same quote in every thread I see you in ...so what the guy beat canelo the p4p fighter today I think he did enough in his career
Plus just canelo and ggg giving us that two fights should be enough to earn the respect of real boxing fans
- -Y U sissies always bigging up other sissies? What if I beat Wart and U on the same night, what then?
Nah, I don't want no sissy title, that's for U...:yo:
Go find a bridge...
I doubt it as Ward is probably too worn out at this point but if this was prime vs prime, Ward def would win. Stylistically he's Canelo's worst matchup.

In Ward's prime, Canelo was still fighting at 154. Meanwhile prime GGG was getting called out by Ward and GGG blatantly ducked him.
Golovkin said “Yes” Ward said no. Later, When Canelo was holding onto 154/155 by his fingernails, Ward said yes.
Golovkin made about 10 times what he would have made fighting Ward instead of Canelo. 20 times by fighting him twice.
Ward was too busy reneging on a contract to fight Golovkin when he was available.
