We saw what he did in the 1st fight and the 2nd was very close as well. The biggest fight in boxing is still Canelo vs GGG 3 at 168 for all the belts. Make it happen in May
Canelo would slice and dice Artur B up all night so don't even mention that guy.
It would not be a good fight anymore, GGG is way past prime and did not look too good against Szeremeta.
Canelo absolutely crushes him in the 3rd fight, but probably will not stop him. GGG has an iron chin.
That is ONE way of out-boxing. Defensive-minded outboxing that maximizes evasiveness while EFFECTIVELY counter-punching.
Floyd was a master at the above style. JMM was also very good. Danny Garcia did it vs Matthyse.
Plant was able to shell up successfully but so did Joshua Clottey and Mikey Garcia. Does that make Plant, Clottey, and Garcia master boxers ?!?!!
No.
They are all good defensive fighters. Plant was unwilling to sit on his punches for fear of what was coming back - Canelo controlled the exchanges...which is....BOXING.
Canelo outboxed Plant You are not agreeing with me but, somehow you saw the same thing I did. Fear of getting hit is not being out-boxed, canelo is a good fighter that will look good against those types of fighters. Remember that he only wanted to unify, after Benavidez was stripped. Let us see what happens next. He has some better competition coming his way, much better than a fat saunders and pillow fisted smith/plant. Be safe.
Floyd showed you can outbox someone with even LESS power than what Plant has
Plant lost because he was OUTBOXED...and OUTGUNNED
That's your opinion. We don't have to agree. You out-box someone when you don't get hit. Ala Floyd, Lara, etc... You know, a clear out boxing example is Randall vs Chavez Sr., Withatker vs Chavez sr, Hearns vs Leonard (Hearns been the boxer). The ginger went thru palnt.
So Floyd, at 152lbs and 35 years old, had more guns to keep Canelo away than 29yr old 168lb Plant.
Yeesh
Floyd outboxed Canelo and Plant isnt Floyd
If you are comparing floyd to Plant, then you have a perception problem.
If all Plant could do was shell up and through pitter patter jabs that's being outboxed. Plant was too concerned of a counter punch to sit on his punches. That's being outboxed. Boxing is NOT just potshotting and moving...it is also CONTROLLING the tempo and exchanges. Canelo outboxed AND outgunned Plant.
Lara, elite? Prime Lara? The one who went life and death with Vanes?!?!?! The one who was afraid to punch at pre-prime Canelo?!?!?
Yeesh
I didn't see any out boxing nor a masterful class. I saw a very determined fighter, canelo, going after Plant's body, and Caleb couldn't keep him away, because he didn't have the high caliber guns to make him think. That's what I saw.
canelo stops current ggg
GGG and his stans billed himself as this avoided fearless terminator. Claimed anyone 154-168 could get it. GGG had two shots against canelo, canelo gave him two different looks, boxed him and walked him down. GGG had 2 chances and 2 styles to convincingly beat canelo and he blew them. He could have erased all doubt of who was the better fighter. Instead he had two close fights and now his legacy is crying he was robbed with canelo and hyping up his close win with jacobs. beyond that its all bums he faced.
Canelo has moved on and cleared out 168. GGG used to day dream about taking on the champs at 168. Now Canelo is all the champs at 168
Lara, elite? Wat
Plant wasnt just outgunned, he was beaten up and outboxed. Its not difficult to shell up for 10-12 rounds and throw a token jab or counter. Just ask Joshua Clottey or Mikey Garcia. Plant was in survival mode and he STILL couldn't survive.
Plant is not elite but he is adept defensively
Plant wasn't outboxed. The ginger went thru his shots like nothing, that's outgunned. And yes Lara in his prime was elite. Just ask canelo.
Undefeated Smith, BJS, and Plant arent lesser. Canelo not cutting to make weight is what has made him so good. His boxing is uber elite too
Nah, he was fine cutting weight and, bringing smaller fighters to his division. Smith and Saunders are not nor were elite fighters, like Mayweather, Lara and ggg. And plant came to fight, but was outgunned. He unified a weak division, not his fault. They are a couple of young guns coming up the ladder. Hopefully one of them could be the guy that, can offer a good fight. Be safe
It's too late because GGG would turn 40 years old next year and is both old and washed up now. He still has power. However, he no longer has the same amount of hand to eye coordination, workrate or stamina that he used to have in his youth; Which are signs of a ruined and shot fighter.
Alot of people don't want to see a 3rd fight and I can see how you'd get fatigued with guys fighting over and over again but wouldn't you rather see a decisive ending to the series or would you rather see Canelo fight a bunch of guys who have never fought anyone? Bivol fought nobody, Benavidez looks great against bums and Beterbiev just looks like a caveman so everyone thinks he has a chance but he doesn't, he will get schooled easily and maybe stopped. He has zero chance other than a lucky punch against Canelo
I give Golovkin zero chance of beating Canelo if they fight for a 3rd time. Canelo already took Golovkin's best shots and still kept going. Golovkin has been a huge disappointment, he looks elite against no hopers, but anytime he stepped up against decent competition he never looked like he was levels above. Canelo is at his prime and Golovkin is declining. No chance in hell Golovkin can get a decision win against Canelo/
yet in most peoples eyes he beat Canelo like 8-4 or 7-5 in the first fight. Nobody has come close to beating the kid in years and nobody will
Stay mad. I am the only one here who doesn't have any loyalty towards any boxer, call it as it is, speaks the truth and never bandwagon around like you sheeps.
:bling1:
You seriously think you're special.
you're dumb and know fuck all, period
ggg got outboxed in the 1st fight and got beaten up in the 2nd fight. He never beat canelo. Canelo needs to fight jermall, andrade, benavidaz, bivol and beterbiev to be great. He hasn't done that.
You smoking glass dck
Anywho, I think Canelo would beat the brakes of GGG now
Benavidez because of youth and reach.
Beterbiev because he is strong.
Bivol because he has elite skills.
These are the only 3 guys that stand any chance.
GGG-Canelo 3 would make sense financially, but otherwise, not at all.
GGG won the first, lost the second, and would be without a chance in a third fight now that he is old and shot - that would be a shutout.
No interest at all.
