The way to beat Wilder is to back him up. Joshua fights scared and if you fight scared against Wilder he's just going to unload windmill bombs on your head. Wilder in 3, easy money.
Based on their last fights you wouldn't pick Wilder. He was terrible and got an absolute beating.
Head to head, I think it's a great fight. I still take Joshua but it would be a war.
I have no faith in AJ after his last fight tbh. He was basically potshotting and throwing touch jabs all night. He's been doing this since he lost to Ruiz
Wilder isn't easy to watch either, but it looks like AJ is leaning towards a style that is detrimental to his own physical tools
People talking like wider would win are clueless....Joshua who has knocked out klitchcko , povetkin , pulev , whyte in style clinically would somehow get beat by Deontay wilder who’s biggest win is against a 40 year old Cuban heavyweight who was litterally 20 seconds away from knocking him out.
Wilder would have a punchers chance but that’s about it.
wilder is one of the most unskilled heavyweight champions I have ever seen......he don’t even know how to hold his guard up properly he’s that bad
How anyone could pick Joshua is laughable. He fought like a scared chicken vs usyk and almost still was koed late. wilder fought like a true warrior, taking loads of damage, still landing his right hand on a guy that is 10 times more elusive than the bodybuilder. sooner or later he lands on the bodybuilder who would fall stiff like a board.
Wilder has no balance. He's wide open to the left hook, uppercut and straight right. Plus he tires after 2 rounds... I give him a punchers chance for 2 rounds otherwise it's lights out for him.
AJ to win by KO is by far the most likely scenario based on ability to land and technique.
Let's not forget AJ would be the second best boxer Wilder ever faced and a much harder puncher than Fury.
Wilder doesn't match up to Wlad, Usyk or even Povetkin skill wise.
Wilder chin better and he has more heart. Depending on Joshua gameplan and if he doesn't execute it I'm picking Wilder if he has anything left that is.
I just can't see Joshua being consistent on defense for 13 rounds and avoiding getting caught. His best bet was probably his original style and knocking Wilder out.
But this timid version of Joshua has a worst chance of winning. Imo
At this point just get it fucking over with. Can you imagine how weird boxing forums would be once they fought and it was all settled? we will probably never get the closure though.
Unless Joshua suddenly learns to MOVE rather than being static for the vast majority of the time, particularly his head, it'd be a KO win for Wilder EVERY time.
Joshua is too similar to Bruno, a bodybuilder with a great knockout punch, and he's nowhere near as loveable either.
