Reputable sources report that the fight is officially off. It was said that Teofimo Lopez offered Kambosos 300k to take the fight on the 16th, but Team Kambosos declined. So now there are many changes ahead. Lopez could fight the next in line from the IBF with Isaac Cruz; he could be stripped of the title or drop the title. No body really knows what's going to happen now. The only thing we know for sure is that there will be no fight this October.

as I've stated on other boxing forums, we may not see Lopez have 10 more fights for the rest of his career. The guy seriously believes he's a superstar and I have no idea why..
The mentality of these guys is they believe their own hype. They don't fight for the right reasons and the mentality shows. It's the Broner-level mentality. Once they lose, their career is all downhill from there. Whereas someone who fights for the love of the sport or to have the desire to be great, a loss is simply a lesson. It's not a successful mindset.
Same with Naseem Hamed.
fçk off. Stop spreading fake news here.
How is this fake? Okay. Try this, go buy tickets to the fight at Barclays. We’re two weeks away and can’t even buy tickets. Think they’ll go on sale a week before? Are you shitting me? This fight is done.
Hmm...maybe that's why Teo is trying to get out of fighting him.
:lol1: I wouldn’t be surprised. Although he genuinely seems to want to hurt George now. If he wasn’t before, George is living rent free in Lopez’s head. I’d say he owns large amounts of real estate there at this point. Lopez is eating,
drinking and sleeping Kambosos Jr.
if the IBF follows the rules, they will find Triller in default and divide their bid deposit between the fighters. The fight would then be offered to the 2nd place bid. If either fighter refused to participate in the bout at that point, they would be removed from the rankings for 6 months.
Triller could also be banned from any IBF purse bids for 6 months as well, but that is at the discretion of the IBF
Thanks for the clarification. Typically the IBF follows their rules (at least more so than other sanctioning bodies). I would imagine DAZN and Matchroom already have some kind of contingency plan in place should this fight be offered to them.
Oh alright. Thanks bro. So what's gonna happen? Either thriller keeps the date or Lopez gets stripped?
if the IBF defaults Triller, then Lopez wouldnt get stripped unless he refused to sign contracts for the 2nd place bidder (Eddie).
The IBF process for promoter defaulted purse bids is for the next highest bidder to step in and do the fight. If either fighter refuses, they would be dropped from the rankings......
Check out his last fight. It was a war.:boxing:
I watched the fight. He is a "pit bull." Jesus Christ. He really comes flying in with his head all the time. Teo will love that. :lol1: I've got to be honest, I think he'll be lucky if he makes it to the sixth round with Lopez. I think Kambosos has a better chance. Cruz is all rockem sockem. He has what I call "poor man's peekaboo," where he just puts his mitts up in front of his face. Lopez will just whip his left hook around his guard all night long. Cruz is like 5' 4" or something too. But Vargas man. That guy is fucking tough.
Maybe I'm wrong about Cruz but Kambosos is a better fighter, IMO.
HEY CHAMP, Teo has never lost in the ring so lets clear that up. I don't know anything about the kid outside the ring but this is boxing and i judge him based on what he does in the squared circle and he is definitely not a loser. Everyone he has fought have lost and are losers:lol1: Yes, I know that chief! I only mentioned that in part jest. You are absolutely right. Lopez is a tremendously young and talented fighter. After all, he did defeat Loma.
TEO becoming like the rest of the entitled ****Sssssssssss
He's been entitled ever since before he fought Loma, trying to hold that fight hostage for more money. Maybe it's all a show but he comes across as profoundly arrogant.
This whole thing was an absolute joke from start to finish and it's not even a fight worth all the mess its been through
Lopez needs to get back in the ring asap and move on
It's not like Joshua vs Usyk where Usyk has always been the better boxer, and really he's as fitting a heavyweight #1 as anyone currently fighting. I doubt he will be the #2 heavyweight for long, let alone #1, because other people sell more tickets and PPVs, but I'm just saying, for the moment, there's not much to take issue with if he does in fact come out on top of the division in the end. Again, I doubt it will happen, but just saying.
This is way different. Loma has been miles ahead of everyone from 122 to at least 140 for years. He has been building towards proving that for years. And then suddenly he just ****s the bed vs someone who IMO lost to Nakatani, and we're just suddenly supposed to care about watching that guy's shows vs nobodies?
Make Loma the centerpiece, not these other guys just because he is Ukrainian. Make the Teofimo rematch immediately. Correct the ridiculous mistake that was the first fight. Then don't make that mistake again. Give Loma Tank next, and make it a Loma domination, the best performance of his entire career. Then make Inoue vs Loma and have it be a firefight for a few rounds because of Inoue's speed, a fight where Loma is lighting up Inoue because of his superior skill, but Inoue's speed is still landing nice shots also, but then Loma's skill and size catch up with Inoue to KO him. Then make Loma vs Shakur and Haney where their speed and skill is enough to survive but they get gunshy and they go to 12 round decisions, 10 rounds to 2 for Loma. Then have Loma get pushed to the brink vs Taylor at 140 for all four belts, but pull it out with knockdowns late. Then cash out Crawford to Loma at 147 for multiple belts, even if it's by split decision, at which point Loma would achieve true legendary status in boxing, and it will have actually been an exciting career, something for fans to actually get interested in, like when Pacquiao rose to 147.
Then after that, if they want to cash out Loma once he's old to Vergil Ortiz or something like that, fine. It would leave a less sour taste to let Loma retire off the win, but it would be less unacceptable for fans than losing to some guy at 135 before beating anyone of note at 135, 140, or 147, which is where the real legacy tests for Loma lie.
Step 1, they gotta make the Loma vs Teofimo rematch for December.
First off he is small at the weight at 135 he has never campaigned at 140 and will never dream so . Linares put him on his arse and Teo hurt him when they fought. which is no shame. However 135 is the furthest he can go.
Thank Goodness! Who needed to see this fight? Teofimo Lopez sure as Hell didn't need it. Besides, who in their right minds would have paid tickets or pay per views in order to watch a meaningless fight between a couple of unpopular losers as these two?

He is the undisputed and he beat a great fighter in Loma that most people had him as P4P no1 and he did it pretty handily. Knocked out Commey in 2 rounds that Loma will be fighting next. Its safe to say not many fighters become undisputed/unified which ever way you have it . fighters have achieved less and still act like plonkers. He chose the hardest fighter and most revered fighter from day one and beat him. Until he is beaten in the ring you will refer to him as King Lopez :rofl:

Taylor has a ibf mandatory of his own in december anyway, so a teofimo fight wouldnt be possible until april at the earliest.
Teofimo not having the ibf belt means nothing to Taylor. Teofimo wasnt undisputed anyway. Money will determine if taylor sticks around 140 for lopez or moves up to 147. Not belts
Taylor is comfortable at 140. If Teomfimo struggles with the weight, it is the only title fight for him at 140.

Yeah. See that makes sense. The guy who reported this had been talking about Teofimo being stripped. It didn't make too much sense to me. So if Teofimo just drops the belt, he'll be removed from the IBF rankings for 6 months? I imagine it would be the same deal. I'm actually hoping he gets rid of the belt because it would make the Loma rematch more likely (even if Teofimo had no belts, Loma would fight him), IMO. His incentive for Taylor to fight him was that Taylor would be able to gain notoriety for beating the undisputed champion at 135.
I suppose Lopez could petition to fight the champ at 140. It just seems unlikely to me. And I don't think he wants to fight Regis or anyone else if it would mean he can't fight Taylor Seems to be either Haney or Loma. But now with his new TopRank contract, it looks as if it'll be Loma.

For those of us wanting to have a Lopez vs Haney or Loma - Lopez rematch, our prayers have been answered. He's likely not going to have the IBF belt unless a miracle happens. No IBF belt, no Josh Taylor fight because whatever incentive there was for Taylor is now gone. That's it.
Even if he doesn't get stripped, the easiest and by far most lucrative fight for Lopez is a rematch with Lomachenko. Then possibly a fight with Haney if something can be agreed on. (Personally I don't see the Lopez vs Haney fight happening because both of these guys ask for so much money that Bob is not going to entertain the idea but you never know.)
So really, the easiest road for Lopez to recoup some of what he lost with this blown fight is to rematch Loma. No other fight makes sense because both guys are on the same side of the street and its a fight everyone is still wanting to see (most everyone). And no one is ever going to go to purse bids again to get Lopez in the ring since he's completely lost all of his momentum. People are starting to say, "Lopez who?"
I suppose DAZN is next in line here, so we'll see what they do, but they could very well pass on this fight and leave it with Arum. Teofimo's saving grace was to resign with TopRank. Could you imagine what kind of **** hole he'd be in had he left TopRank?
He would be completely fine if he left top rank. he'd be fighting haney, tank, mikey or broner if he left top rank.
