Joshua can`t take the punch any more.
He was f.ucking scared fighting a cruiserweight champ.
Ruiz loss was no fluke, Ruiz started this. He took Joshua`s soul and Joshua can`t let it go. When Usyk started landing, these memories came back to Joshua`s mind.
He got overrated from the wlad win. Wlad was 42 years old and still dropped him. We just saw 42 year old pac fight, people forgot how far removed a 42 year old is from their prime, their reflexes ect. Sure a heavyweight 42 year old still has power but reflexes, agility, speed, that is all gone. 42 year old wlad put him on his ass and when he got back up and won the fight everyone saw it as him overcoming adversity but forgot the part about how faded wlad was and that any fighter in their 40s eventually loses if they keep fighting.
If AJ was in america he would have never gotten the same push, but boxing his huge in the UK, they are ultra loyal to their country men, they saw AJ as a handsome and marketable guy like a DLH for the british heavyweights, that is why they pushed him to an undeserved gold medal and over hyped him in the pros.
He had already been hurt multiple times before Ruiz, and in the Pulev fight he tried to be aggressive again.
Usyk was just too quick, skilled and durable. No version of Joshua was gonna win that fight.
Correction. No version of Joshua with those judges wins that fight. It was getting to the point I think if Usyk was knocked down the ref would’ve called it a slip and given him 5 minutes to recover. Worst set up since Liston took a dive against Ali
You might be right because he did sting Usyk a few times and every time he sees Usyk throwing back, he shells up.
He's not decisive anymore and overthinking things.
That's why I said he has probably checked out of boxing and he needs the fighter mindset back.
joshua is to dumb to over think or under think
I think Wlad ruined him - he took some devastating big hammer rights in that fight.
Watching the Usyk fight again - I think Wlad gave Usyk the blueprint in Ukraine on how to feint and land that straight punch.
Wlad caught AJ all night with that punch by setting it up with feints and lazy jab. And Usyk did the same all night yesterday.
The only difference is that Wlad did it in the orthodox stance with his right whilst Usyk did it in the southpaw stance with his left.
you will never see utter domination of HW division as what the Klit bros did. they destroyed generations of fighters from the old guys to the young guys. if they lost in the rematch they destroyed the fighter. no fighter was the same after they fought them. lennox lewis "beat" Vitali and retired rather then facing him again not even for tons of money. by "losing" Vitali ruined lewis
He was just never that good to begin with. AJ’s always been a flawed fighter. That doesn’t make him a bad fighter. He’s still a top 5 HW unquestionably but he’s always had stamina issues, always been vulnerable around the whiskers and always struggled with movement. Nobody ruined him.
He's reminding me of Primo Carnera. Whether it was legit or not, Foreman offered to train Joshua after the Ruiz loss. I've always thought he needs to adapt to a Foreman shifting and grappling style. He should have been hooking Usyk all night long.
I had £500 on Usyk winning, so was pleased he didn't get robbed. One thing surprised me though, Joshua was absolutely not willing to go out on his shield. He was behind all the way though (I only gave him 3 rounds) and the few times he slightly buzzed Usyk, he was unwilling to follow up with anything. I found him to be quite submissive throughout the fight, and Usyk absolutely bossed him. He loses the rematch easily, then likely falls down the queue with rematches with Whyte and Parker, or fights with Joyce, Yoka, Hrgovic, Hunter, Dubois and the like, being his best options. The Fury fight is dead, and I don't think Joshua would ever want to face Wilder, as that only ends with a brutal KO loss. Nash out.

yeah true, Not saying there isn't truth in what you're saying, he still got the result in that fight though so it looked like he could move on. Ruiz though, you don't come back from that kind of loss. And every time he gets hit now he won't even counter because he's scared of getting caught. He just shells up and hopes for the best. terrible defence
AJ didn't look shot; he was just in there with a better boxer who got the jump on him. AJ shouldn't have tried to outbox Oleksandr. He needed to put his weight on the smaller man and land a bomb, at the risk of getting knocked out. AJ was getting PTSD flashbacks in there, preventing him from taking risks.

Beautiful post ... let's go back on everything you said pre fight take everything away from usyk when he wins by saying wlad wrote the blueprint and Joshua is a shell of himself
Quite different from the animal you made Joshua to be in the rematch with ruiz
Nah Wlad ruined him. After that fight he was never the same, he has been in transition since that fight, go back and watch him after the Wlad fight, Takam, Parker etc he has been trying to transition to taking less shots since. Gun shy ever since..
This is the truth

Josh can still beat good people but when you fight good fighters you can lose. Josh hasn't got the invincible aura no more.
But he has learnt enough to still take down names
Nah, the writing was on the wall after the Wlad fight, AJ even said himself that he cant be in many more of those kind of fights, which loosely translates to, i dont want to be in those kind of fights again. I think that fight put the quit in him, So as soon as someone put it on him after that (Ruiz) he folded. If Parker put it on him, he might of folded there too.
You could see in rounds 3-5 he got some of his old confidence back, then usyk answered back in the 6th with a few left hands, and he went back in his shell & accepted defeat.
He had already been hurt multiple times before Ruiz, and in the Pulev fight he tried to be aggressive again.
