didnt oscar say he was double waxed for the virus and still ended up in hospital whacked from it, this happens to sick old people with underlying medical conditions & this guy was training for combat, oh yeah, i mean the frailest of the frail end up in a hospital after catching it and being vaxed
I honestly thought Oscar was going to lose to Belfort. Oscar may be younger than Holyfield but he's also smaller and has been out of the game even longer than Holyfield was. Plus, the last time we saw Oscar he got absolutely blasted and that was 13 years ago.
Holyfield kept himself in much better shape than Oscar did, regardless of his age. Oscar was fat and sedentary for a very long time (not to mention degenerated from drugs and alcohol). He wouldn't have done any better after he took the first big body shot than Holyfield did, and would have folded mentally and physically. I don't know why so many people keep seeing Oscar as the guy he was more than 20 years ago...he hasn't been that guy for a very long time and never will be again. Oscar's best shot at this new circus of boxing is with Chavez Jr providing Jr comes in unprepared as he has been doing for close to a decade now...but who even wants to see it?
I had De La Hoya winning by UD. Off of shadow boxing alone, DLH can still at least stand up straight. Holyfield can't even box anymore. DLH can still move without falling over
I was going to pick Oscar also. If he could maintain some semblance of his old style I think it could still work for him. He had a high guard with a tucked in chin. He was laser focused. He was economical with his footwork. A million times a better boxer than Vitor. It would just be a matter of how in shape and ready Oscar was. Vitor would have been dragged down to 185 also. It’d just be a matter of if Oscar could protect himself from
the early flurries and also counter with a hard shot instead of just ear muffs. Then Jab and press once Vitor was blown up. Course that takes an in shape Oscar. Still I think Oscar weathered storms well and always came back hard. He could push. Let’s see if it ever happens. Vitor should be ready to get back in the ring anytime. Who knows how long they hold off Oscar.
