I first went to Meps on September 6, 1996 for the first time to sign life away and the next night, I was anticipating Tyson/Seldon. The whole Saturday I was watching press conferences, highlights, and interviews. Seldon seemed confident and I thought he had a great chance at beating Mike from his size and jab. Fight night he was dancing in the ring during his entrance and once the bell rang, he took a dive from fear without being hit. That card was good. Trinidad and Norris had fights on the card and were in talks of facing each other in 97. After Seldon took a dive, I watched some highlights on sportscenter for the rest of the night and fell asleep. I woke up the next morning to hear that 2pac had gotten shot. My first thoughts were, "again?" and I didn't think it was serious until hs died that friday the 13th as I was playing NBA Live 96 on Sega Genesis with a friend when another friend came to my house to tell us around 7:40 or so..
(I hope this is a boxing post lol)
25 years ago..2pac died in the hospital flipping off the cop who tried to get info.
I was still in college taking general courses study for Nursing but living at home.
The 90’s were awesome. 1996 was an awesome year.
I probably was glued to a computer doing nothing but surf the web.
fast forward today and I’m glued to my phone web surfing the same message boards that I am used to.
