Ugas has fought as high as Middleweight, and has fought at Jr MW several times in his career. He went down to WW to have a size advantage, as most boxers do. Pacquiao weighing in at 147-150 on fight night, while fighting guys who weigh 158-170lbs, that’s a real old school fighter. Fighting at the weight you walk around, that’s literally old school. Same day weigh in type stuff. We do not see that anymore. Mayweather and Pacquiao did that. But no one else did.
Pacquiao is going out while taking on the biggest and best around him.
165lb Ugas can celebrate all he wants for upsetting the 148lb Pacquiao. But he will never take on top guys his own size like Canelo, GGG, Charlo, Jacobs, etc.
Ugas is literally the same size as GGG is on fight night. He is just willing to cut weight to take on smaller boxers. It is what it is. That’s boxing.
Lmao.... How much of an advantage it is if said guy has to cut all that weight?
Then everyone should be getting extra points beating guys like Porter .. and Pac was a big guy in the lower weights with those huge Hercules calves lol
I can’t explain to you how that is an advantage.
That would be like trying to explain why 2+2=4.
It’s something you will need to figure out on your own.
AboutBillions commenting on fan hate...you ever recovered from Maidana dry humping your boy ?
About Broke has like 17 kids with 11 different Mommas and is literally broke. Child Support is a MF and your idol blew it...all over a NUT! Hope he enjoy his "street rep" cause he aint gone have no money

Idk Kev. #48 has a heavyweights calves. His style of fighting is shit without that advantage. No coach would ever advise to throw punches like youre riding a bike with your hands. He may be short, there's lots of short fighters, but He is the one with the natural advantage. Ugas has chicken legs, he may be taller but the muscle is distributed more even.

He was a big boy in there and Pacs punches had no effect whereas Ugas' jabs and rights had Pac back peddling every time.
Pacs legs are shot and he should hang them up now
We need to return to same day weigh in's with a rehydration clause. This is why wrestlers have such a massive advantage in MMA, they mastered the weight cut. Some boxers have also.
Cutting excessive weight to boil down to a lighter division can have certain advantages, as can fighting closer to your natural weight.
For one to gain optimal advantage for a weight cut, it has to be done very carefully otherwise stamina, strength, speed and punch resistance can be drastically effected.
Years ago, I often floated several weight classes for sports (admittedly not boxing). Depending on matchups, I could be going in at my natural walk around weight or cutting as much as 15-20 lbs. I always thought the optimal situation was a cut of around 5 or so lbs (for a same day weigh in).

- -Canelo fight weight mucho mas mejor than a puny 165lbs for umpteen years now, the last being Floyd's rehydration stipulation where Canelo had already turned blue at the 152 lb weighin. Ever since he ditched his teenaged welter division he's been 170s and now 180s.
I thought you followed boxing.
Pacs looked like he was fighting someone 2 divisions bigger. Pac didn't want to fight someone as big as margarito but Pac essentially did without appreciating he did
lol why do you have to mention mayweather?
the quote didn’t mention mayweather.
oh Yeh… can’t you be a fan of both? Must It always be ying and yang
1. The poster is a Mayweather fan.
2. Because Mayweather and Pacquiao had the biggest rivalry from 2008 through 2015. I was not a Pacquiao fan. The poster brought up something about me not being able to cope with a Pacquiao loss.
3. I am the thread starter. I mentioned Mayweather in the opening post. So this thread is about both fighters, but mainly Pacquiao. If you do not have anything to contribute and are only here
You’re too new to know I am Team Mayweather all the way. Trust me when I say that.
I am also a boxing fan and it is okay to say your true opinions about fighters you do not like.
It is in my opinion that Pacquiao is a badass for fighting much bigger guys than him.

There's no cope like Pacquiao fan cope

As you said, "it is what it is". This modus operandi is carried out throughout all combat sports by competitors. He has every right to be cheerful, He has beat a aging Legend but more importantly i'm sure at his age he is more happy about securing more bread for his family as he should. He fought within the parameters of the rules and deserves his day in the sun. Im sure he hasnt been that brash since winning the title and even offered Manny a rematch which shows he is after the Cake. We all know this loss will not define Manny he will forever be remembered
