Tim Duncan is my favorite NBA player of all time. San Antonio Spurs were my favorite team due to Duncan and Robinson. Once Duncan retired, I stopped watching NBA games. So you are barking up the wrong tree if you want a Duncan vs Kobe argument. I could never stand Bryant. So, yeah. RIP to him and his daughter, but I was never a fan. I will gladly join you in the trolling that Tim Duncan is the GOAT. As far as Kobe Bryant not being top 10 all time, I have no desire in arguing such a comment. That is a comment that is probably shared with 0.00000000000000000000001% of the world’s population. I want no part of such a debate.
As far as titles go, being great is not all about titles. In fact, I did not mention titles even once in my reply to you. I do not care of such “feats”. So I do not have to let anything sink in. Adrien Broner is a mediocre boxer and most boxing fans know that. I do not even know how Broner was injected into this. He is not a name anyone brings up when discussing top 100 ATG’s. And should never be in such discussions.
I need to see more of Tank Davis. But, again, his titles mean nothing.
I go by resume, skills, longevity, how well a fighter adapts to trouble in the ring, and of course athleticism can’t be ignored. Tyson Fury’s movement and handspeed for being 6’9”, can’t be ignored. He is clearly a very agile big man. This of course does not matter. Jack Dempsey, Gene Tunney, Jack Johnson, Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano all wipe the floor with Tyson Fury, no matter what. Even though in reality he could probably fight them all and KO them all similar to how George Foreman fought those multiple boxers in a circus of an event that he had. None of those “ATG’s” would be any match to Tyson Fury. Unfortunately, Fury is unable to crack the top 50 HW’s of all time because fans say so. Even though most HW’s won’t stand a chance against him. He is not allowed in this fantasy list because it would make too much sense to say that a 5’10” 190lb heavyweight would likely get killed in the ring by the 6’9” 270lb Fury. And in boxing, we don’t make sense. Making sense is looked down upon. So yeah, Joe Louis destroys Fury with one punch because…Joe Louis comes from an era with less weight classes and less belts (makes zero sense but I am just going along with it at this point).
it's not all about who can beat who. It's about accomplishments as well. There is no doubt in my mind that Deontay Wilder would beat a 190 lb Rockey Marciano, but neither Deontay or Fury have dominated their era. Too many belts and promoter bullshit keeping fights from happening. Jr Jones beat Marco Antonio barerra TWICE(with no controversy whatsoever), so by your standards, Jr Jones is one of the best jr fws of all time since he twice beat an all time great jr fw. I go by resume and skill level. If a fighter fights for 30 years and only has 3 years worth of accomplishments, how can that 30 year fighter be better than a 15 year fighter with 10 years at the top? I'll put it like this, I'm gonna throw out just 4 names and tell me if floyd or Pac are better than these guys all time: And I'll throw out 4 more and more..
SRL
hank Armstron
SRR
Ali
which one of these guys are Pac or floyd better than? And if you don't have a knowledge of boxing history by doing your own research, that's your fault. Don't get mad at us who do..
Floyd has been retired for years and he still comes up on multiple threads daily. He has that effect on people that they suffer because he exists. Both guys their own rights in boxing history but some want to obligate you to pick who was better.
10, 20 years from now will people still debate who was the greater between the two?
Probably……..Think it should be more of a “fighter I’d rather watch” competition. Hands down, Pac all day long.
Adrien Bronder is a 4 division champ and Tank is a 3 division champ without ever fighting and beating the top fighters in his division. Let that sink in and get back with me. Because these bs trinkets today don't mean a goddamn thing. The selling point of Manny being a top 10 fighter is that "he's an 8 division champ". As for the NBA, I know the NBA'S history, and Kobe isn't a top 10 player all time either. He's not even the best player of HIS ERA. Duncan easily has more accomplishment as the top guy on his team. We can go there if you like.. The NBA fed yall this Kobe bs for years even when he was missing the playoffs and getting bounced from the 1st round

The only way we can know where they rank is by going back in time and watching every pro boxer’s fights.
Otherwise, it’s a guessing game. Or a lying game.
I see posters somehow posting “their own” ATG list, listing fighters who do not even have any footage. In reality these ATG lists are copied and pasted.
I have seen posters say that you can make an ATG list based on newspaper and magazine articles. If that’s the case, that’s even worse than not seeing the fighters at all. Because you have bias. You see it today too. Boxers/promoters have biased writers. I imagine back then, the writers were more racist than ever. So you would have them hyping up their favorite fighters. There is also the issue that pro sports had barriers to entry back then, and you had one racial group being the majority.
This race that dominated sports at the time, due to them really being the only race that can participate in sports, kinda skews ATG lists and makes you wonder why so many “ATG lists” of literally every other sport changes but boxing’s ATG list never seems to change. Boxing has a set ATG list forever and it is blasphemy to change it. It is okay to say Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and Kobe Bryant are better than Jerry West. Because it is true. But in boxing, it is not okay to say Mayweather, Pacquiao, Fury, Tyson are better than Jack Dempsey. In reality, Tyson would most likely slaughter Dempsey in a few seconds into round 1. But it is blasphemy to say so.
Literally ALL sports ATG lists change with time, except for boxing’s ATG list. Robotic and uncoordinated, unathletic boxers like Gene Tunney can mop the floor with Anthony Joshua. That’s just how it is and you can’t argue against it. Henry Armstrong would KO Canelo with a blindfold over his eyes and one hand tied behind his back. Canelo would not stand a chance anyway.
It seems like I am the only boxing fan in the world who does not have a boxing ATG list, because I can’t see all fighters footage and refuse to copy and paste Bert Sugar’s ATG list and edit it and say it’s mine.
It is quite amusing reading fans opinions about who goes where on the ATG list. Please send me a link to all of the footage you saw of all of the pro boxers in the history of boxing. That would never happen because the majority of fans are just copying and pasting another person’s ATG list and pretending that they compiled it themselves.

I don't see an end to it. It's crazy how a lot of boxing fans need to latch on to a rather than just concentrate on the fights. You even get people arguing over tv stations
floyd and manny's young azz fans arguing over who is higher ranked top 10 all time and NEITHER ONE OF THEM are top 10 all time fighters. Yeah i said it. None of these mfers in this 17 weight class 10 belt era are top 10 all time fighters.

Seeing as how this thread degenerated into a Manny v Mayweather debate about 2-3 posts in, I don't see it ending anytime soon.
One of the reasons why I could care less about ATG, TBE, P4P or Mythical Matchups is because they all degenerate into a war of opinions.
In this particular instance, these two fighters actually did fight each other. On that particular day and in those particular circumstances, Mayweather proved to be the better man on the score cards in a fight that I thought was so boring I'd rather forget about it.
Unlikely.
To be honest, Pacquaio fans dissapear when he loses.
They've been back in full force since he beat Thurman for 2 years because he's been inactive.

The difference is what Pacquiao accomplished, only he did. And very likely are records that will never be broken.
What Floyd did, others have done, even better.
but no remained undefeated doing it and not beating opponents with such ease. remember he had pillow fists for the last 10 years of his fighting career and every opponent baring 1or 2 fighters came to the ring 20lbs heavier than him. Obviously there will be critics that say Mayweather fought Pacquiao when he was over the hill and Mayweather was in his Prime even though Mayweather is older but there is no pleasing some people. I like Manny and being a 8 division champion is a mean feat but he has 8 losses with that. I look favourably on a 5 division champion with no losses spanning over 21 years . Its rare to have a career in boxing over 20 years and never getting beat. Unless you fight nobodies like Joe Calzaghe who to be fair later proved himself to be a tough cookie
SO TO JUST SUMMARISE I PERSONALLY PUT MAYWEATHER ABOVE PAC BUT I HAVE NO QUALMS PEOPLE THINKING PAC WAS GREATER THAN MAYWEATHER
There is no arguing. Manny has always lived in Floyd's shadow, he's the one always bringing up Floyd. Name dropping the TBE is the only way Pac knows how to promote a fight.
I would hope not. I definitely get in the mud with the worst pac fans when they go ape shit but I rarely if ever make Floyd threads.
I think once Manny retires and the very worst fringe of his fans- spoon, Hugh grant, paswayko, djtmal, icetraydagang, adp02, and some others go away things will subside.
I honestly don't see too many fans of Floyd arguing about who is greater. It is usually threads created by Mayweather's critics.
Looking at the biggest Floyd fans on boxingscene though, I will admit i'm in that group, and I do nothing but praise Pacquiao for his longevity and his desire to still fight top guys. Posters like Larryx as well. And if you see our posts about Pacquiao, we are all kinda completely over the whole Mayweather vs Pacquiao subject. I do still see posters like puga creating threads about the fight even now, I guess trying to get a rise out of Mayweather supporters. But I think most sensible posters from both sides are over that. You still have the last few trolls of either side going at it and I don't think they are a representation of the entire fanbases.
But yeah, there will always be bitter fans going at it, taking shots at the fighters for one reason or the other. For example, in my thread discussing "real robberies" you can see some bitter fans still bringing up Floyd fights like Mayweather vs Maidana I. Of course for these types of fans, it is more racial than anything else.
show everyone those manny vs floyd threads that i created lately please.....fukking LIAR!.....i'm so sick of that shit for damn long time now!

I believe 50 years from now Manny's achievements especially the whole "Boxing's only 8 division world champion" will attract more of the next generation's attention and it'll resonate better throughout the ages until someone breaks it which is unlikely in our lifetime. The fighting between two sides (fans) might subside as they get older and older but again for the new fans who are interested to learn more about the history of boxing, the name Manny Pacquiao will always be brought up due to him climbing up several weight divisions and winning many wars. They are both special no doubt about it. Looking at boxing right now it'll be hard to see another one who are like one of them within the next 10-20 years.
