1. WBA decided to have Ugas keep the belt instead of letting Pacquaio keep it therefore giving Pacquiao another "champion" to fight.
2. PBC put "WBA CHAMPION" Ugas on the Pacquiao-Spence undercard so he was already in camp and in shape.
3. Ugas opponent Maidana also happened to suffer an injury leaving Ugas free to take the Pacquiao fight short notice.
A series of very fortuitous event.
Only thing that would have helped even more is if Ugas just happened to be sparring against fast southpaws in camp recently.
I dont think the intent was for ugas to get the pac fight
They dont care about ugas
But it is weird how everything was set up for ugas to step in
Maybe they knew about Spence injury ahead of time and prepared for it
Once Spence wasn't looking good and pac was looking good, they decided to pull the plug
This is what I feel. They underestimated Manny thinking his age and time off was going to make him look like dog sh!t in training. It's been the opposite. Meanwhile you have videos of Spence looking like crap in sparring. They realized, Pac isn't old enough to be ripe for the picking and said, let's give Pac more time before we go after him.
If Fraud Jr. called Spence to give him advice, it was, don't go after a motivated 100% Pac. Get him with a disadvantage. In this case, age is the disadvantage Spence is looking for, and he didn't see that in the videos coming out of camp. He said, "F" that, no way I'm losing to a 42 yr old Pac.
With how shady boxing it, that could be true. But it would require Spence to be in on it. I could believe that Spence intended to take the fight, but then wasn't doing well in camp so pulled out. But if he's healthy but just went through this whole fake promotion to let Ugas get the fight first that would be pretty weird. JMM drinking piss while sitting on a Japanese guy's lap level weird.

Them stripping Pac and Ugas being made champ does smell fishy.
Bro, they did that s/hit a long ass time ago.
Before Spence's car crash or just after it, iirc.
So, I don't see anything fishy. It was pretty much based on getting the WBA champion into big fights (Spence since he was unifying the division. Technically Bud as well but let's be honest, Bud isn't trying to fight anyone truthfully) while Pacquiao was up in the air with who he was going to fight ever since beating Thurman.
If they kept Manny as the WBA champ, maybe it just would've sped up the showdown between Pac and Spence but that's all I can imagine for them not stripping Pac and giving it to Ugas.
Bud isn't actually trying to fight anyone. So, it's pretty much Spence (or whoever beats him) or bust for the WBA.
I forgot about that. I thought Manny had the belt still.
Cant disagree this is sus.
I know it sounds stupid.
But as a big pac tard, I'm now more worried about pac losing to ugas.
I know spence is superior to ugas and spence would beat the crap out of ugas.
But ugas is also big and strong and I think his style and gameplan might give pac more trouble.
It's easier for bigger, stronger guys to keep away and limit exchanges with smaller guys.
Plus ugas is Cuban. My racist ass hates Cuban boxers. They dont care about being boring. They only care about getting a W.
I smell a controversial split decision win coming for ugas, unless pac can pull a ko/tko out of his butt.
Which he was right? He posted a video three/four days ago sparring a southpaw.
Yup
Just saw splitsecond's thread.
Ugas was sparring southpaws in camp.
Fishy. Fishy fishy fishy.

That was surprising.
You'd have thought WBA would jump at a chance to get another sanctioning fee involving the proposed super fight of the year..
But interestingly enough they didn't.
Let's see how the judging is for this fight.
Controversial split decision for Ugas maybe?
Then Ugas (the man who beat Pacquiao!) losses to Spence and other PBC stars next year?
Possible?
