When his own corner thought he took an L ?, just listen to Derrick James he got nervous real quick because Jermell looked like sh^T damn near the whole night and either could not or would not follow the instructions he was being given.DJ told him he needed a KO to avoid an L , again his trainer who is sitting ringside and who knows what he is looking at told his fighter he needed a KO to win.
I thinks Jermell won a majority of the rounds on the back end of the fight. You'd have to be really generous to Castano to give him any of the last few rounds. Not saying he wasn't working but he didn't do the better work. And I think that one round where he was out on his feet probably could have been scored a 10-8 round, which is acceptable and legal. I thought Castano eeked it out by 1 round. But this wasn't some bad over the top robbery. It was a great action packed fight where I think one guy did just enough. I'm ok with seeing it again. I don't think either guy has anything to be ashamed of. I do wish the would have gotten the decision right or at least no bad score cards because that distracts from what was a great night.
You can't.....Mell had all the physical advantages but I knew if Brian didn't get caught by something big,the dog in him would lead him to a win. Every once and awhile, sheer will trumps all,the dude worked his ass off all his life that moment...and got robbed, damn shame.
A lot of guys don't know how to score fights. There's a major issue with scoring when 80% of people, both hardcore & casual, think one fighter won but the outcome is a draw.
Charlo didn't really have any success outside of the 2nd and 10th. It's dubious to give Charlo both the 11th and 12th both the judges did so anyway.
Ok, so what you're saying is that because Floyd Sr. was apparently panicked in the corner, Manny clearly beat Floyd. Right?
Lolz Sr was not nervous , he was animated at times because he felt Floyd could do more and get PAC outta there ....He never gave Floyd the sense that he was losing and he sure as sh^t did not tell him he needed a KO to win the fight .
And you don't score based on the 'eye test'.
Going by that logic, Manny Pacquiao lost against Keef since Keef landed on him more. Right?
Apples to Oranges PAC won his fight even via the eye test I do not think you know how that term is used in boxing .Only Charlo d^ck riders can come up with the mental gymnastics needed to give him enough rnds to win this fight or even get a draw. I put more stake in what his trainer who has a vested interest in Charlo winning said than any official or un official scorecard and DJ acted like his fighter was losing, verbally acknowledge he was losing and told him he needed a KO to win .
Because you score it round by round, not "trainer said this" or "trainer looked like" this.
His corner did not need to score it rnd by rnd , there are plenty of fights I might not score but the eye test tells me 8-4 or 7-5 and they end up being scored in that range. His corner knew he was losing that is why the corner acted like they did all night pleading w/ Charlo to listen to them and that is why they told him he needed a KO. So like I said you cannot score a fight for a fighter when his own corner thinks he took that L .
