It is well known in the boxing community that Crawford has had chin problems in his amateur career. He was also somewhat exposed by a much smaller Gamboa and average Mean Machine. I think both Arum and Crawford know this and that explains their choice of opponents especially in the welterweight division.....namely no one with a chance! Crawford talks a lot until someone calls him out.....Porter for instance....then he goes quiet. He will be out almost a year by the time he fights again....and....wait for it......it's gonna be another no-hoper. We would not be talking about him in any other era of boxing. Thanks Floyd Mayweather!
Floyd was great at avoiding certain guys or aging them out. Also it was about him not losing his "0".....unfortunately this has set the tone and most fighters and their promoters do their best to build up no hopers for their fighters. On top of that most top guys only want to fight once a year. Crawford does not fight often.....goes quiet if he's called out ....or in the case of Spence makes sure to price himself out. Remember Porter was going to happen if Pacman fell thru......I knew by the way Crawford was acting that there was no way he was fighting Porter.....and he didn't. I don't want to hear how Porter didn't activate his mandatory........Shawn's Dad went right to Arum's office and ...no surprise ....no offer...not a low ball offer but NO offer....not interested. How Crawford fans let him away with that **** I don't know.....
Aging his main rivals out lol he was older than them, people that don't like somebody talk so much opinion BS no factual base at all just opinion.
To the thread, I think TC is no more chinney than what Thomas Hearns was, these guys are out to take you out and their style will get them clipped sometimes, so long as they get up their explosive power generally gets the job done before the fights over, championship fights are 12 rounds what matters the most is whose hand is raised at the end, fans hang of anything where they have moments of vulnerability, and all of a sudden it's a major weakness when its just the ebb and flow of a 12 round battle.
I have never seen him badly hurt, and the 2 times where he did get hurt, he recovered so fast that it was a non-issue. People should stop judging people's toughness based on them getting buzzed for a such a short amount of time. I do think crawford's chin is just fine.
