I guess the Verdejo fight took a lot out of him than I thought. It happens. Only big Loma fanboys want Lopez 2. First fight wasn't that good or that close. It proves nothing.
I agree that it can happen to a fighter. On the other hand we cannot dismiss a possibility that opponents ability limited what the other could do in the ring and made him look bad in the process.
With you mentioning that Loma looked average you probably think that he won only because "Verdejo fight took a lot out of ". But I think you should give Loma credit at least from an angle you tried to make before the fight (as everyone can see in the quote above) and also because he took fight percieved as difficult for him and made it look relatively easy. Unless you really don't want to.
As for Loma - Lopez 2, a lot of people want to see that fight. Of course it is more important for Loma than for Lopez. I think if Loma avenges his loss to Lopez, he reenters some P4P lists and then hopefully we get to see some big fights (Davis if he fights at 135, Haney and so on).
And in which way is #2 and #3 (going by your ranking) in the division fighting each other not good?
This is his quote from another thread so draw your own conclusions:
Oh did I mention that he has Nakatani in TOP 5 of the division?

What about Lomas performance were you not impressed with?
This is his quote from another thread so draw your own conclusions:
“He is strong, very tall and very long arms,” notes Lomachenko. “He has experience at the top level, as he showed in a (competitive) fight with Lopez and the way he was able to beat Verdejo. This is the perfect challenge for me. I’ve always aimed to face the highest level of competition.”
These are analyses I've just made on another thread. I would give Loma a big credit if he can win this. I'm not sure. Nakatani is a formidable opponent and coming into this fight with supreme confidence.
Good article, Jake, except for the abrupt end. The conclusion could've been longer.
Oh did I mention that he has Nakatani in TOP 5 of the division?
Lomachenko is the best possible fight for Teofimo financially--Bob has been saying this to Teo for eternity, if he wants more money Loma is the man for him and it's the easiest to make too because they are both with Top Rank.
The Verdejo fight took more than anything. Didn't expect Nakatani to look so bad. I was not impressed much by Loma.

Masayoshi Nakatani looked shot last night. You guys do know wars ruin certain fighters.
So when Loma fans want crown his arse do so.
I for one saw a fighter who has been in too many wars................................Just saying.
Be careful what you wish for.................................

What if Kambosos screws up all the plans and lays out the pussy? Then what? I guess Loma, as a true Euro belt guy, will pursue Kambosos. Sounds like a long trip. Lopez might vacate the IBF before that. Don't think he can make the same day weigh in of 10lb or less.

For the 100th time............Loma had a bum shoulder in that fight. He had surgery right after. Do you even follow boxing ?????? {"alt":"Click image for larger version Name:\tloma.jpg Views:\t0 Size:\t69.1 KB ID:\t30974648","data-align":"none","data-attachmentid":"30974648","data-size":"medium"}
He lost that fight. He got injected before the fight and it was his decision to take the fight injured. It was a mistake. Like I said I question his judgement. He will have a chance to redeem himself if a rematch happens.
100% want to see the rematch and it sounds like it is going to happen. Lets face it Teo's dad is the type of dude to believe his own hype even if it isn't warranted, and after the first fight there would be a lot of belief there, even taking into account the obvious shoulder issue Loma had.
Biggest issue I see is TR coming up with the money Teo wants, of late Bob seems to have trouble with that side of things.
No way Teo accepts the fight. A very few chances of winning that again. Awaiting for ducking and excuses
I think so too. If Loma is more active than last time he wins ez
I’ll believe it when I see it.
I do not believe Teo wants that fight. He’ll reluctantly take it and end up getting beat if he did.
I got Loma beating him in a rematch.
Who wants to see that? They should go their own ways. Neither would be a major force, name wise. I think it's a curtain time for Loma as well. Watching it on mute tonight, he looked average.
Of course, you’d prefer all the top guys fought nobodies and walk overs, to take the heat off Davis.
Yes, he's a strange guy but they want to be PPV stars. This is the best option Top Rank has to offer Lopez for that.
The best think Lopez could possibly do is get a new trainer other than his low level trainer father. And to think they gave him trainer of the year. Weird shit. Same with Danny Garcia. Both of these fighters have out grown their dads as trainers.
While I believe Lomachenko had an injured shoulder which worsened in the fight and a rematch would likely look different; this was a known issue already. Lomachenko’s father asked him to drop out of the fight. They knew about the shoulder 6 weeks before fight night. He trained through it and hurt it further in round 2 vs Lopez.
Lomachenko maybe should have not played the “hero with an injury” card and listened to his camp/father. He felt so confident in beating Lopez with an injured shoulder, that he went along with the fight. He simply underestimated his injury and overlooked that Lopez could beat him with the injury.
This all falls back on Lomachenko. It is not Lomachenko’s camp/father’s fault, it’s not Lopez fault, it’s not Arum’s fault. It’s only the fault of Lomachenko. Lomachenko’s camp advised him the right way: drop out and heal. Many fighters do it. Injuries are part of boxing. No, you do not train/fight through them.
No responsible, competent physician on Earth would advise Lomachenko to fight through his hurt shoulder. Maybe Lomachenko was reading reddit’s BroScience comments in r/fitness and decided it was a great idea. If you get hurt, you stop, heal and don’t stress your injury. Lomachenko’s people told him to not go forward with it. It was common sense advice. He was stubborn and took an L for it. Mayweather was stubborn and fought Castillo with a hurt shoulder, he was lucky to come out with a W.
I’d love to see a rematch, but Lomachenko’s injured shoulder in the fight is his own fault. Listen to the people who care about you. He learned a lesson. Don’t fight while injured. It leads to nothing good. Coming in with an injury and no rematch clause. He was obviously overconfident. His accolades don’t matter, he’s human, he has a human body. Humans are fragile. He learned that the hard way.
yes...i know all that...just tired of everyone praising Teo for beating a 1 armed man .I like both boxers but we need a re match . Loma by UD
