I agree, Barrios did well, but that Fight was sealed in the 8th. In the Kovalev fight, there is a bit of historical revision going on with 'canelo easily winning' - Canelo couldn't do much with that jab for 10 rounds and the stoppage came suddenly, where as Barrios, while fighting well, was sapped by the knockdowns in the 8th and took numerous big shots in the earlier rounds. I don't think anyone is saying Canelo was easily winning but Kovalev wasn't landing anything big to deter Canelo from coming forward. Forget landing anything big, Kovalev was hardly throwing any hard shots as he was scared to get countered. I thought similarly, Barrios was edging the early rounds but those shots he was landing weren't hurtful shots. Once Tank started pressing forwarding, there was only one way the fight was ending.

Tank looked like he was about 165 lbs in the ring tonight lol. I don't know if he can comfortably make 135 anymore.. Barrios must have been 190-200 then. Gervonta did better against Barrios than Canelo did vs Kova. Going into the 11th I thought the canelo fight was going to a close split decision type of an ordeal. Kovalev's jab was able to keep Canelo from doing much of anything for 11 rounds. I mean Barrios won his fair share of rounds as well and he was able to keep Gervonta at bay for a good amount of time. The Fielding fight was. It was for the Regular WBA! So for all the Canelo haters always crying about “Fielding,” these fights haunt… it’s ironic too… it’s as if the Canelo hate karma wanted to make a point with Tank using No Boxing No Life gloves!! It’s magic in the air. Smith and Kovalev have had more significant fights and class levels above Barrios Fielding was losing from the first second. Fielding also doesn't fight like Barrios did tonight. He fights up close. That's why he lost in 3 rounds

Mario has the IQ of Kovalev? what about Fielding or Smith if we want to compare size and styles. Barrios fights nothing like Kovalev In terms of the smaller fighter losing the early rounds but continuing to walk the bigger man down and land the bigger shots until getting the stoppage. Barrios was landing more shots but never landed anything significantly. The Fielding and Smith fights were nothing like this one.

Can't disagree with any of that, definitely needs to go back to 135 where he's top 3, but it was a good finish and rally after giving away the early rounds. When I broke the fight down, I said if Barrios can take Tank's shots, it was going to be competitive and close. Tank vs Garcia or Lopez needs to happen soon. Lopez vs Tank needs to happen

They should make the Garcia fight. Tank will flatten that boy, it's easy money.

Yup basically the same thing. Tank shows he's good enough to beat the guy in front of him but probably not top guys at 140. He's gonna have to make weight at 135 to keep going
