He didnt want to be stretched early so he didn't throw anything meaningful for the first 6 rounds. Had the Comey/Lopez fight not taken place, he would have been more confident and got stretched out.

I don't think Lopez will face Loma again, or at least not soon. He had the balls to face him the first time and was gifted 6 rounds by Loma. But then he was clearly outmatched in skill when Loma decided to go to work. I don't think he's necessarily afraid of being beat, but it seems to me that mantra of "the best fighting the best" changed once he was holding belts. I just don't think he wants to risk handing them over now. That's why he hasn't done since that fight except sit back and verbally snipe fighters.
