Not saying Nakatani will win but I would always expect someone with that size and will to make you work hard. Add on that Loma isn't the biggest puncher, is coming back from surgery and may be on the decline and lets see what happens.
Agreed. I have no idea how this fight will play out. Loma dominating wouldn't surprise me, but neither would Nakatani having success. This one feels like a mystery

No. This is a fight Loma will look like a master in, like he did vs Luke Campbell. But he can't beat the greats like Lopez or Gervonta. Maybe could beat Haney.
Lol....................
nah, and i havent seen a fighter get on inside and test naka's body,
i think loma dominates, not that impressed by naka, i think verdejo jus collapsed late in the fight like he usually does
and lopez plays into naka's game with outside fencing,
No it's the other way around. He is too slow and not technical enough to give loma issues on the backfoot. Loma would be able to read his punches and easily step into range.
His path to victory is just to relentlessly use his size. And try to wear down loma. Dont let loma get leverage on his shots. Loma just isnt durable at 135. Has to find a way to find his breaking point.
telling nakatani to fight long is akin to telling margarito to fight long vs pacquiao. The speed difference is too big for it to be an effective strategy. His feet are not quick enough like a pedraza to keep up and properly maintain range and his hands too slow to catch loma coming in.
I'm not envisioning Naka sticking and moving, but being aggressive while trying to maintain proper range so that Loma has to exert energy in order to get into punching range. I don't expect Naka to be successful with this strategy due to Loma's speed and technical advantages, so that's when he'll try to impose himself and force a brawl. I don't expect him Naka to win that type of battle either as he'll start to smother himself and Loma will start breaking him down on the inside.

Stylistically I see this playing well for Loma, Nakatani has all the heart and grit in the world but I think he's going to be hitting air. Lomachenko was particularly wary of Teos speed on the counter (moreso than his power I think) and his caution in the first half was because he registered that danger early. Not that Nakatanii can't be dangerous but he offers a very much more predictable type of threat. Dudes gonna be working and coming forward throwing all night long.
Agreed. Don’t him and Davis fight the same night? There’s zero reason they shouldn’t fight next.
This is what I'm hoping for myself. I see absolutely no reason they shouldn't fight next and honestly see the advantage for both fighters and believe it would be a good contrast in styles.
Nakatani is a proven fighter and is likely to fight his heart out. He’s beaten all the bums (including Verdejo here) soundly and could have gotten the decision vs Lopez (the fix was in if we look at those cards). He’s earned this undoubtedly. Whether Loma can dominate him or not says more about Loma.
i think this is a really tough fight
loma will find it difficult to use angles, with that much reach disadvantage
i think nakatani can gives loma problems all night
nakatani got a good 1-2
Nakatani will only give Loma issues if he uses his reach, but I see Naka trying to force a brawl. Loma will have his chances to bang away at Naka's body and I think a stoppage may be possible.

- -Tough enough to retire an aging, now fragile Loma. Bad choice by Papa Loma...
The first time ever you write something I can understand and agree with. Tough return for Loma. Good if he wins.
I believe this going to be a very hard fight for Loma. I can see this one going any way. Maybe Loma outboxes him, but how long can he keep this big, relentless, tough fighter off him? If this guy hurts Loma there will be some problems that may be be too difficult to overcome. Lopez had lots of difficulty with this guy. I can’t make a prediction with any certainty here. Looking forward to this fight!
Great post. All this, plus the fact Nakatani is coming into the ring supremely confident, whereas Loma might be questioning himself. I'll be neutral on fight night, meaning not rooting against either. I'll watch it if it's not on the same time as either Lubin or Davis main event. I'll focus on that one.

Spoken like a guy who didn't know Loma lost his second professional fight.
Loma's "excuses" was he hurt his shoulder and thought the cards were poor, he had surgery straight after the fight and one of the cards was 119-109. Pretty hard to argue with either of those as being valid, if you watched that fight and scored only a single round for Loma, YDKSAB.
We will see.
We'll see. Not gonna get into the Loma-Lopez fight. I guess your pick is Loma, vs Nakatani. Most here will agree with you.
As always, I have to go against the grain here. There's more to fighting than living in the past. Loma is in similar position as Wilder, mentally. Let's not forget that. Psychology matters. No more mystique, belts, or asskissers. Most his 'fans' disappearing after that Lopez loss. An afterthought in the division...
Nakatani KO Loma.
