Magic is close to being a billionaire I think. Magic Johnson enterprises is worth upwards of a billion for sure.
Yeah, dude has built an enterprise for sure post-NBA career. Done really well, especially for someone coming from that era.
Maybe he did make more than what they made in their careers against Paul, but Magic Johnson is a business mogul now and probably worth more than Mayweather.

NBA players were pretty underpaid until the late 90s. Actually, most athletes weren't making the megabucks a lot of them have been making since the early 00's. Jordan himself only made 93 million in his career and that was only skewed by the 63 million he made in his last 2 seasons with the Bulls. That tv money and collective bargaining has made a big difference.
This,
sure there is inflation but even if you took that into account, the difference is that mayweather cut out many of the middle men and he is getting a much larger piece of the total revenue generated that most other athletes. Look at UFC fighters even in the current day, dana white is cucking them hard.
Congrats to Floyd, yeah I'm sure HE made HIS money but nothing he does HELPS PRO Boxing as a whole. Just a Money Grab/Robbery as he calls it and then he goes off and enjoy his money leaving the Sport trying to recover and repair its Image and trying to Show fans that "not all fighters are like Mayweather"
yeah but remember: Jordan vs. Bird 1-on-1 for Commodore 64. Bird became a household name in 86. That game came out in 88 and lasted across 6 different platforms. So somebody was ripping Jordan AND Bird off somewhere along the way.
Absolutely. The amount of revenue Jordan, Magic and Bird were bringing in, regardless of inflation, far outpaced what they deserved to make. Nowadays you have guys who aren't even close to superstars making the same as actual superstars. Anyone who plays in the nba at least 3 years should be set for life. Not so in boxing. Guys can box a decade and still have to box. Great for the top guys in the sport because their potential earning isn't capped like other sports, but bad for lower tier and mid tier guys in boxing.

This is the only thing the floyd fans can be proud of floyd how much he earn but other than that floyd was just embarrassing like all floyd was a circus fight, gift wins, boring fights, cheating, illegal IV's and the most highlighted part of his career was he couldn't even beat a youtuber.
I called you out for irrational anger over his success. Pointing out you’re irrational hatred and anger is not defending Floyd’s money.
Its sad that you try to equate it to that.
Anger? I'm not angry over his earnings or how he spends it. I've already said I don't care if he earns millions for his exhibitions, so long as they remain exhibitions. You have this obsession with defending him on every thread. You have this emotional investment in Floyd and it's kinda creepy.
I'm just pointing out that the article is misleading, why are you always defending another man's money? He's not going to throw you a bone Dunn. You're not on his Christmas gift list, lol.

Geez ghost just stop. You shouldn’t be this mad Floyd is financially successful. Hate will never get you anywhere.
instead of whining about it, maybe suggest to the guys you like that they utilize the available platforms to generate more revenue for themselves.

Except that isn't the proper way to adjust for inflation. You would have to go back to each individual year, and adjust for inflation that given year's earnings. Dunce.

Wrong again

Not only that. He TOLD people not to buy it if they didn't agree.
That's how you know you are the top of the game. This is the second time now that Floyd has straight up told people not to buy it - and they buy it anyway.
Meanwhile, certain other fighters I won't name have to beg to get people to even show up or pay for their fights.
Absolutely he said if they don't like that type of fight not to buy it. Other fighter still have to fight meaningful fights and still don't get paid a fraction that he does. That fight was broken down so much like it really meant something, it was a meaningless circus fight.
If you adjust for inflation, then no, he did not earn more than either of them in this one fight.
Wrong again

The majority of time that Magic and Bird were playing the NBA wasn’t a major sport and there very few endorsements. The NBA Finals were on tape delay in the early 80’s. Jordan came in and changed the game and made himself marketable and started making millions off the court.
NBA salaries didn’t really take off until the 90’s when the TV deals started getting crazy. The Dream Team brought a lot of international eyes on the game and TV rights in other countries like China.
Not a great comparison as it was a different time.
If a generational player like Bird or especially Magic comes along now they would be making Lebron or KD money. $30-40 million in NBA salary and more off the court.
