The Reality of May-Paul and Perception

Floyd is right. Logan and Jake will need to be careful with actual boxers their size. Another reality is that this fight was more about public perception. Though Floyd was old, small and never a puncher/finisher, the public doesn't know that. The general public and YouTube/TikYok only hear TBE. Therefor the expectation is that one of the best handle the YouTuber. They don't care for boxing nuance or age/size excuses. You were supposed to pummel the non-boxer. Anything less was a loss. Then from boxing fans, though we recognized you are old and small, we NEEDED you, one of the best, to shut up these YouTubers. We NEEDED you to prove our point that Boxing isn't for play. Unfortunately Mayweather didn't when boxing needed him most. We've had exhibitions and crossovers. We've had the Steve Cunningham's vs Frank Mir. Jake Paul vs. An MMA fighter. The problem is that we're seeing crossovers and exhibitions with guys not in their primes or out of their league. As fans of combat sports, WE know the reality that the Paul's aren't ready for current/active/prime champions their same size. Let's talk Logan and Jake vs. a prime cruiserweight to really gauge where they are. Problem is their not trying to prove they can dominate the cruiser division, but that they can make a big event and arent worried about boxing fan perception of fighting a old smaller fighter. P4P, Floyd would have stopped Logan but was too small and old. Put him in with someone his weight (cruiser/small heavyweight), he would barely last a round. Floyd was too small, old and hasn't been an offensive finisher since his pre 30 Pretty Boy Floyd days and he said many times during the final few years of his career that his body can't hold the rigorous training anymore.. But that isn't the excuse boxing fans needed this past weekend. That isn't the excuse the public cares to embrace. Everyone needed Floyd to be Floyd when Floyd simply can't be the Floyd we knew. In the world of perception, that's why Floyd is perceived the loser. He should jave never entertained this. That's not just me (a Pretty Boy Floyd fan), but what I feel a true reality is.

It’s the first PR stunt Floyd has got badly wrong. This hurt his brand, his ego and worst of all hurt boxing. F*** Floyd though, he knew what he was getting into by getting involved in this circus, he also knew this would hurt boxing but his greed and continuous desperation for attention overrode that. Nothing against Floyd as fighter, the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching live, but as a person the man is simply a c***. he fucked up most by legitimizing paul. He basically made the paul brothers the A side now against almost all past and present pro boxers. Everyone is now calling out the paul brothers but now they troll and claim they "beat" mayweather and call the shots in all negotiations. Only like maybe 3-4 fighters would even be the A side against them now.

I think the damage to his brand and ego will definitely smart because he's an incredibly egotistic person, but I think that the extra millions in his bank account will soothe that pain for him. Obviously it should go without saying at this point that he doesn't give a rat's ass about boxing. I think the scratch to the ego visibly hurt Floyd. He’s already saying he’ll likely never do an exhibition again, which is great news IMO. I don’t think he needs the money, so he just sit back and enjoy retirement, I actually loved the idea of him training fighters, I’m a big Roger fan so would love to see that knowledge passed on.

Or, y'all buy into exhibitions way too much and don't really consider why these fights are organized as exhibitions rather than unsanctioned or why all these recent exhibitions have been sold based on "It's a real fight, we promise" nonsense. You know when it's a real fight no one has to sell the reality of the fight. You guys know this. Ain't no one talking about how Pac-Spence is a real fight we swear. Ain't no Pac interview, ain't no Spence interview, addressing the reality of their fight. It is on paper a real fight and if they choreographic it and perform a fixed fight then they can be held accountable, however, there is no ****ing accountability for proving a fake fight on paper was a fake fight in reality, and, that's what an exhibit is for. So you can legally put on a fake fight and not be held accountable for people realizing it is fake. Just happened to have just enough for everyone to argue over the outcome, or, you know, exactly what Tyson and Jones were going for. The biggest problem with these modern day exhibitions is the mass monetisation of them. Once a product is monetised, expectations will naturally rise, especially when you consider fighters, celebrities, YouTubers etc are driving sales for these exhibitions by presenting them to the public as genuine.

That's not just me (a Pretty Boy Floyd fan), but what I feel a true reality is. - -Heh, heh, Floyd be Floyd when he turned his back to go squallin' fer Daddy vs Maidana, an automatic DQ or TKO by any fairly officiating ref, but U Sissyboy ain't had fairly officiated fight in over a decade, near half his career. BOTTOM LINE: He and his clusterfest of Boxing experts guaranteed to his fans wanting to place bets that he would knockdown Logan before knocking him out by the 5th round if not sooner. Instead he looked like a gasping toad trying to swim in a bucket of water. So much for TBE TUE 51-0 and his clusterfest of boxing experts...R.I.P...:grouphug::yeah:

Floyd Mayweather got the win, but really? He should of known how the perception of the fight would be if Paul survived 8 rounds. Logan Paul may not be a professional boxer, but he was 50 pound heavier than Mayweather 'And he does have athletic ability from wrestling'. This fight was probably poor match making from Mayweather, Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Junior in comparison was really good match making for Mike Tyson.
