I am no fan of these exhibitions fights but this is something that has been done before and some rate of success. I have a lot of casuals and non boxing fans talking before, during and after the fight. Here in NSB we have Floyd hater talking about him at 100% capacity.
Don't know why so many are in pain because he fought. He mentioned that minimum he will get $30 million and they will probably will be more upside if it does well with the ppv sales. While some are crying here for one reason or another Floyd is laughing all the way to the bank.
Like I said before I do not like these celebrity circus money grab fights but it has its audience and I don't know why some are really taking this like it was a legit fight. The fight was trash as expected and really was meaningless.
floyd fans justifying floyd's action with comments like "floyd's laughing all the way to the bank"... well that goes for all fighters that have fought!.. i've seen the same posters on here who has said some bad shiiet about a fighter choosing a lesser opponent, well... that fighter is also laughing all the way to the bank! so why is it ok when it's floyd who does it but when it's a different fighter, they get trashed for it, but isnt that fighter also laughing all the way to the bank?!!
Not a Floyd fan and the truth is that crappy exhibition probably will be the most profitable event this year unless we have Fury/AJ fight. Sad if you ask me but in the end it is a popularity contest and what ever appeal to the masses it will sale. I didn't care for that Tyson/Jones fight either but that did well also so the pattern for the time being have been set. Tell me what event will get paid so much for 24 mins of work.
By no means I am defending it but it is what it is and I don't know why so many have their panties so bunched up.
When everything is all tabulated, how much do you think Floyd will claim he made from this exhibition? 100-150 mill? 200 Mill? What do you think he will claim he made?
At the end of the year Forbes prints out the athletes that made the most money. I don't go with what some fighters say, some elevate the number and some down play it.

exactly!! watching these floyd fans run around and make excuses for their fighter is hilarious!
if floyd comes out and said he made $500mil, they'll take his word for it lol.
The way he spends money I honestly believe he needs it. He recently purchased a $60 million private plane. That is about 10% of his overall wealth spent on one plane. Never mind the hundred luxury cars that are all depreciating in a garage, or the money he loses gambling heavy. We haven’t seen the last of Mayweather in an exhibition.
Such terrible investments. Smh
I firmly believe Floyd regrets doing this exhibition unless he actually needs the money which I’m pretty sure he doesn’t.

Floyds 2 main income streams- promotion and girl club- made nothing last year other than those PPE loans he got.
You need resources to promote and the #1 asset for Mayweather Promotions is Floyd.
He may have had to do this to avoid using dipping into his personal assets to promote the upcoming fights he has scheduled.
I don’t think he ever regrets making legal money.

I think he always claims he makes more than he makes. I also question whether he wants to do these... He likes the narrative "hey im just having fun here, it is what it is..." But we don't see Lennox Lewis, for example, taking on some YouTuber. I do think there are other fighters who could make money doing this but choose not to do so. I have no problem with Floyd's decision either. I believe the Paul brothers are showing fighters how to market properly... showing that we do not need Arum, Hearn, etc. So I wouldn't watch this, and it is cringe worthy at times to see the highlights, but I respect it as progress. I also respect Floyd's true statement that he only really started to make money when he left Arum... I see it from that vantage point, as a show with no middlemen.
But when I see Floyd? I see a guy who has a very expensive and unsustainable lifestyle. He makes a lot of money and spends a lot of it... I do not think he will stay rich. He has extended it... from the days of Ray Robinson for example, but there are immutable laws when it comes to financial matters. he simply spends too much.
