Came up short tonight, but showed his heart and toughness and definitely won a handful of rounds tonight. Garcia said he didn't have much trouble making weight tonight, so what path does he take coming back? Go to 147? Stay at 140? What sort of types should he be looking at upon his return?
What's the challenge in that? You got to dare to be great. Hagler beat a bunch of nobodies, so did Calzaghe and Hopkins. Divisions are transient, why slum around a dead division when you can move up and be great?
Imagine if Floyd stayed at 135 or 140 his entire career? Boooring!
What good is hopping divisions constantly picking up weak trinkets and dodging good fights? Would people have preferred Crawford fight Taylor, Prograis & Ramirez at 140 over Brook, Khan, Horn, etc. at 147?
I can see Ramirez going up to 147 if Arum offers him a shot a Crawford. Not for anything else. PBC has the rest of 47 locked up.
Arum ain't putting Ramirez in there with Prograis. Get outta here with that.
What's Ray Beltran up to?
I'd love to see him fight Prograis.
I don't know why everyone is in such a damn hurry to vacate and move up in weight. For once I'd like to see someone become undisputed and then just ****ing reign over the division like a modern day Hagler. I think that's what Inoue said he planned on doing with Bantamweight, but you never know now that he's signed the big deal.
Honestly Prograis will mess Ramirez up . Id like to see Josh rematch Prograis , that was close . Probably should have been a draw
I don't think Ramirez would hang with the all the sharks at 147, too many in Spence, Bud, Vergil, Boots. I think he should stay at 140 until his body tells him to move up.
If Taylor moves up he'd probably have his choice of fighting Catterall for the WBO title or a rematch with Zepeda for the WBC title. Prograis is the big fight at 140 I'd like to see as it would settle who the second best of this era is. Teo is another fight I'd love to see. Still other names for him to fight like Pedraza, Baranchyk, Easter Jr and of course Broner.
I forgot about Pedraza, he's another guy in TR's stable that will probably be trying to position himself in a vacant title mix
That should be the fight Bob Arum gives Paco the briefcase full of cash to make.
I'd like him to stick around at 140. The belts will become available soon enough. Maybe fight somebody like Pedraza in a come back fight.

Ramirez v Prograis would be good.
A rematch with Zepeda would be good too, seeing as the first fight had favourable cards in some people’s eyes
maybe a fight with Barboza? He’s a top rank fighter I think? I’m certain I saw him on a top rank card anyway, So that could be made
Ramirez vs Prograis would be good but honestly, I just don't see nearly the same amount of success at 147 for him.
If Lopez moves up, that's another good fight right there.
I think you just take the rest of the year off if you are JCR. Rest a lil while. Enjoy yourself. And then look back at 140 in 2022. Maybe Taylor has moved up so he can walk right into a loose belt. Maybe he can take a gimmee fight just to get back into the win column. But idk that I'd make any plans right now if I was JCR so that would be my whats next.
I will be interested to see where the sanctioning bodies rank Ramirez after this. He might be able to work himself into an eliminator rather quickly and potentially get a shot at a vacant belt next year if Taylor moves up. As far as TR goes, he could potentially find himself in a rematch with Zepeda or a fight with Arnold Barboza
I'd love to see him fight Prograis.
