I take my hats off to both men. They put there lives on the line to fight for greatness. Taylor boxed a beautiful fight and Ramirez was out hustled in the clinch and in the pocket. But, Ramirez came back like a champion , fought through the tudding shots and hurt Taylor at the end of the last three rounds. Great fight for the sport, this sh1t was amazing. With all that said, both guys get beat down by TC. I Hope Taylor stays at 140. I want to see him in there wit Teofimo. Any how, good night everyone!
I scored Prograis v Taylor 6-6 (I was at the fight and haven't rewatched it). This fight tonight I can see being 6-6 but I had it 7-5 to Taylor. I've been saying for a while this is an incredibly strong and competitive 140 era. If Ramirez, Prograis or even Baranchyk win another title at 140 it would add even more shine to Josh's legacy.
If both of tonight's fighters move up in weight then Prograis is the best in the division and would probably KO Zepeda, the next best. That's a war I'd love to see. Teo v Prograis would be crazy.
Regardless of head to head, despite Bud making more lineal title defenses at 140, I have Taylor ahead of Bud "all-time" at 140. Doesn't mean he beats Bud, but he went through a hellacious run that arguably got better with every major opponent - Vazquez, Postol, Baranchyk, Prograis, Ramirez. Add Martin and Khongsong in to the mix and his last 6 opponents were 136-1 - incredible.
I always thought Taylor was a class above people at 140lbs,but was told he was just a euro bum. Now look where we are now. Great fight, this is what boxing is all about. Scores were too close for my liking though.
Yeah the score cards were pretty close. Fight was more like 116-112 or 115-113 at the closest.

Boxing wins. Simple.
If Josh didn't struggle to make weight I think he's best served defending it a couple times. He's had a tough run and deserves a nice homecoming fight and payday against fellow Brit, Jack Catterall. If he makes weight comfortably then I think he should fight Teofimo. I'd slightly favour Josh Taylor being the bigger man and having a proven chin in the division.
If he moves up in weight then I think David Avenesyan (European Champion at 147) would be a nice homecoming fight to the weight. Then Mo Hooker before fighting the top dogs at 147.
Ramirez is young enough to come again. Maybe an immediate move to 147, or he could stick around and try to win a title at 140 again. I'd love to see Prograis v Ramirez. I'm not sure how Prograis would handle Ramirez's pressure but Prograis I feel is the biggest puncher in the division and he has a legit chin too so he might get the KO. I see that being an even better fight than tonight's.
Great things said here. I agree completely, both guys should take there time before fighting a guy like Crawford. It depends but I could see Teofimo really hurting Taylor, yet we have to see what his power and his chin is like at 140.
