Depends on what you mean by "trash". I personally think Larry Holmes has a top 20 resume for a heavy, he's in my top 10.
Earnie Shavers 2x
Ken Norton
Gerry Cooney
also a lot of Tyson's notable names were Holmes leftovers
His 1 round destruction of Marvis Frazier is one of the funniest fights I've ever seen
he has other good names too, but definitely not what I'd put under "trash". But I could totally see why his resume can be underwhelming compared to his skillset.
There's so many good/great boxers with one notable victory that I'd say that anyone who's top 100 of anything, can't be trash. Can they be overrated as hell/not as high as people rate? Sure, but not trash.
Perhaps I'm too fussy :(
Larry Holmes is one of my favorite fighters and for a HOFer his resume is trash :lol1:
Gifted as all hell but cmon.....

Not a bad thing at all. Just saying that we can do it with every single resume out there. But like you said, obviously some resumes on the top level are much easier (and more deserving) to pick apart than others.
That's fair.

Very true and it should be done (dissecting a guys resume)
For some reason, this is a bad thing to do ?

I just think he gets more credit than he deserves.
That's fair.
We can pick apart just about any resume, but yeah in my opinion I think it's a phenomenal, elite resume. I would give Floyd the same credit for the resume that I give Manny.
As for Floyd going through Manny's resume unbeaten -- I think he possibly does but gets taken into extremely deep waters by Rustico Torrecampo ;)
No seriously Mayweather would be an obvious favorite against every opponent on that resume, but then again Floyd is also one of the greatest of all-time and you could say the same of virtually any resume out there (around Floyd's weight class). Floyd goes through them all undefeated. Floyd had an elite, A+ resume himself and went through it unscathed so there's nothing to lead me to believe that he wouldn't do the same with Manny's or anyone else's. Heck imagine what he would do with Terrence Crawford's resume. Floyd could sleepwalk through Terrence Crawford's resume undefeated. Heck as much as I think Errol Spence has a really nice resume -- I think it's one of the best WW resumes out there amongst his generation, but Floyd cruises through Spence's resume unbeaten as well.

Fight fans should not cover their eyes when it comes to giving it a once over.
Every guy throughout the history of the sport has bums and shot guys on their resumes.
Some more than others. Therein lies the rub.
TBF, you are the rare Pac fan. Not resorting to childish name calling to get your point across.
I wish more guys had his style. Very exciting to say the least.
I just think he gets more credit than he deserves.
I have to ask a couple of questions -
1) If May had this exact resume, do you feel he would get any credit ?
2) Do you think May could not go through Pac's EXACT resume undefeated ?

You're certainly entitled to your opinion. But...I definitely could not disagree more that Manny Pacquiao's legacy is "smoke and mirrors". I think what he has accomplished in his career is nothing short of spectacular, and I think most, if not all historians of the sport of boxing will remember his legacy very, very fondly. To say the least. I don't think you will be able to find a single historian of the sport who wouldn't have Pacquiao as a certified all-time great & first ballot shue-in hall of famer.
Respect
We all have guys in the game we are less than fond of :lol1:
Pac is one of mine.
If a person were to examine his career, you will see large gaps of mediocrity.
A couple of recognizable names. He is fun to watch as was Gatti.
I know, Pac started out as a 100 lb lil guy. IPac fans won't let anyone forget :lol1:
He is no longer that lil guy. Hasn't been for most of his career.
Yeah, he's a 1st ballot no brainer BUT again. His resume is not as good as it's written up to be.
Questionable WW fights
Cotto, DLH, any of his wins vs JMM, the Bradley rematches (Horn didn't get 1)
Utterly useless WW fights
Rios, Algieri, Lucas (yeah, a belt.....) Broner, Vargas, Mosley, Margarito (yeah, another belt....), Horn
Let's give Pac the Morales and Barrera fights. Are those guys not the exact style Pac needs ? Come at you with little regard for defense ? Not the quickest of guys ?

He had 1 1/2 good fights IN HIS LIFE (vs Cotto and Margarito)
Power ?!?!?!?
A couple (?) of flash knock downs and ONE KO :lol1:
Pac couldn't KO Rios who Spence would have murdered.
Couldn't end anyone of his WW opponents other than SHOT Lucas :lol1: !!!!
Pac's legacy is pure smoke and mirrors.
Once you get over his fights with shop worn Morales and Barrera...it's pretty meh.
IF
He somehow beats Spence FAIR N SQUARE, I will be the 1st one here to get clowned on.
The only reason why Pac is even mentioned is because he started out his career in the puny person div. Where no one cares who you fight. bunch of NOBODIES.

clottey-pac was very strange. clottey didnt take any damage in that fight and came out fresh in an era where pac was busting up his opponents but clottey barely threw. I thought he was the right style to give pac problems but it didnt look like he was trying, like he intentionally held back
Clottey was sturdy but clearly too slow and methodical. No way was he going to win a rd.
lol you're stupid. i said i accept the bet and also given u the odds. if pac win only by 7-5 rounds i loose and will never post and and if pac won by 8 or more round then u r gone and never post again. deal? that's how confident i am.
You don't know a fa cking thing about gambling do you? What you proposed is called a handicap not odds idiot. I accept. Remember this is official scorecards, not this imaginary dumb shyte in your head (you know like the incredibly dumb shyte you keep posting about the Pac/Floyd fight). Also remember this has your alts gone too. That means when Spence wins, blow blow is gone too.

initial thought is spence must be favored based on mannys age. probably like 80-20 percent chance in spences favor
really though i will have time between now and august to rewatch spence-danny, spence-mikey and pac vs thurman and pac -broner and come up with a better prediction
broner just shelled up like he does and didnt throw shit so that fight didnt tell us much about pac. nobody really has pressed pac in a while but also nobody has really pressed spence in a while either. spence looked like he is back to normal after his car crash but danny is content to just stand outside and get outboxed and collect his check. what happens if spence gets hit in the mouth and feels his fake teeth get loose, how will he hold up mentally at that point, is he really 100% physically and mentally. can manny even do it anymore or did he just fight the right hand picked guys in shelled up broner and inactive broken thurman.
Pac was that feared when he hit someone's their defence took over their offence and they were just there to survive and anytime they opened up they paid the price
Clottey rios mosley cotto all ran like chickens or imitated arther abraham and whoever decided to open up (margarita de la hoya hatton)
Bradley stood his ground sometimes and got hurt whenever he did, marquez is 100 percent counter puncher and mannys style was perfect for him to shine
Algeiri ran like a proper chicken against pac yet tried to stand his ground against spence
Look what happened
Bro, Pac's WW life prior to Thurman and Spence is shady AF !
Power :lol1:
I am confident Spence ends Pac.

Pac that fought clottey was prime ww pac
he was settled at the weight perfectly with power super stamina and toughness
Would have obliterated spence and Kelly Brook who gave spemce fits
pac and spence are different levels
Nobody will ever be able to do what pacquiao does
The closest was loma but he severely lacked the power
Pac is and always will be one of a kind
Whereas a spance comes around every once and a while and is gods gift until he loses his 0 and everyone says he was never that good to begin with

Ridiculous pacquiao would easily beat spence in his prime ,it would be so easy the guy comes forward too much and Danny garcia was countering him and Chris algeiri was landing straight right hands whenever he threw them
Prime pacquiao would demolish spence

True
Pac's lefty style will not confuse Spence at all.
As of now, Pac is the underdog (been awhile since that happened).
Even if Pac were younger, I wouldn't see him winning.
