Looked like shit against Canelo too the point where I'm questioning was it a fixed fight. An older fighter with his biggest pay day, gets a little extra to take a dive against a younger fighter.
Kovalev looked gun shy and slow against Canelo.
Kovalev was busted for PEDS recently...should he just call it a day or make 1 more run at light-heavy or cruiserweight or something?
I think he deserves one more shot. It wasn’t like he was outclassed by Canelo. A lot of people had it close and quite a few had Kovalev in front at the time of the stoppage.
As Big Z said he could probably outbox quite a few of the top ranked guys at Cruiserweight. I wouldn’t completely rule out him winning a title at CW tbh.
Go to 200 and see what happens, he can probably out box a lot of guys at that weight and if his power carries, he might be able to be top 10. Kovalev/Kudryashov is a fight that tempts me
He’s been stopped 3 times in his last 7 fights. almost 4 if Yarde finished him.
He’s clearly fading anyway and approaching 40. Considering how fast his decline was, he will be shot to bits in a year or so and getting stopped by anyone decent.
He might be shot to bits now...he hasn't fought since 2019

He should have retired after the first Andre Ward fight. I know a mentally defeated man when I see one. After that first Ward fight he was never the same and he only got worse and worse with each loss he took. By the time Canelo fought him he was 1/10th the fighter he was going into that first Ward fight.
