People need to stop this only way to beat Canelo is have him fight a guy
that can run around like Lara, Mayweather, or a chicken and just hope
the judges will give the victory to whoever that runner is. Fk that sh1t.
What you need is a another banger who can duke it out or fight fire with fire.
It's 80% mental. Same thing with a guy like Glovkin. And I thought Jacobs,
for example, finally got it in the later rounds of that fight, but it was too late.
Charlo. He’s got some very tight boxing couple with very good power and a strong jab. Benavidez would be a good fight as well but I didn’t like how much he was getting touched in his last fight.
One that the has really disappointed me lately is this new generation of boxing fans, a lot of them are Canelo supporters but some are not, do not seem to appreciate the importance of a good jab. A jab is THE most important punch in boxing. Establishes your range, ring generalship. It can be used offensively, defensively, easy to retract and avoid getting countered, make the other guy think, and all sorts. It used to be so that if you got out jabbed you got outboxed but judges don't seem to see it this way. People don't appreciate it enough, but the one thing that ALL Canelo Alvarez opponents who were competitive with him had in common is a GREAT JAB. Floyd, Trout, Lara, GGG.
You know who else has an ELITE jab? Jermall Charlo. A jab that fires much faster than GGG's jab. This makes him well qualified to fight Canelo Alvarez.
Billy Ho abandoned his jab this past weekend which is a big part of why he lost. Charlo will not make this mistake.
That's nonsense. Charlo is almost similar to BJS's style, and Billy Joe was more experienced fighting top 10 fighters. Yet what the hell happened?
Which part is nonsense Benavidez having slab feet and blocking punches with his face or Charlo having the best shot of beating Canelo?
Charlo's style is absolutely nothing alike BJS's and I am not at all convinced that is true, not that rankings mean anything anyway. Beating more top 10 fighters doesn't count for anything doesn't mean you're a better fighter or have a better chance against anyone else.
Charlo is a big, physically strong boxer-puncher/catch & shoot counterpuncher, BJS is a rather typical British amateur styled southpaw which rarely if ever translates well to the pros. Their styles couldn't be further apart.
Benavidez is the most difficult. Then Andrade because he is a mover and can punch sharply. Then Plant. Last Charlo. Charlo is basic , straight up. Jab right hand, etc. Canelo bust his ass up. He walks down Plant. Same with Andrade. Benavidez will make it much closer.
Charlo
I don't think the others actually do very well.
Benavidez has size & power but is cement footed and blocks punches with his face he is made to order.
That's nonsense. Charlo is almost similar to BJS's style, and Billy Joe was more experienced fighting top 10 fighters. Yet what the hell happened?
Benavidez if he ever gets hit act together. Andrade is and has always been mediocre, I have no idea why he's being built up into a monster over the last 24 months. Promoters doing a good job I guess. Jermall got owned by Korobov, even if he magically got the robbery on the cards. If you replace all the clean flush shuts that 37 year old out of shape Matvey was able to land with in his prime 168 lber Canelo, Jermall has a puncher's chance and not much else.
I don't see how he is going to have enough legit challengers to last 7 years especially since guys like the Charlo's will never step up and fight him. Plant, Benavidez, and maybe GGG (that's if he does not lose before then) are the only likely contenders and none of then stand a chance in hell of beating him. In what used to be many fighters all wanting to make their name and fight the best in this current era of boxing Canelo is only one of two who is worried about their legacy, the other is Estrada. All the rest of today's fighters have inflated egos that they have yet to earn. All think they are the A side and refuse to fight anyone of real note. Crawford, Spence, Charlo's, Garcia, GGG, Davis. None of these fighters care about their legacy or fighting the best. They think they are ppv material even though their ppv numbers are anemic. They think they are worth millions even though they could not sell out anywhere outside their hometowns. Imagine if Haglar, Hearns, Duran, Leonard all refused to fight each other. Imagine if Lewis, Holyfield, Tyson, all refused to have fought each other. Imagine if De La Hoya, Trinidad, Mosley, Vargas, Whitaker all refused to fight each other. Boxing in the 21st century is just a sad state of affairs.
He will NEVER run out of Legit Challengers, after those guys fans will be calling for him to fight David Morrell Jr, Berlanga if they keep winning and keep rising as well as other guys who could eventually move up to 168 so it is never ending. I don't think fans can go by what we "Think Would Happen" most "THOUGHT" Loma would school Teofimo so these fights need to actually HAPPEN and lets SEE what would happen
I'm not into protecting fighters, I like Canelo but I'm not attached to him to the point in which I will start protecting him and directing him away from certain styles that could give him problems and styles that he could lose to. Lets see what would happen when these guys are in the ring together.
Charlo for me lost to a counter puncher which was Korobov, Andrade looked hurt many times in his last fight and that leaves Benavides which puts pressures with skills and is naturally bigger. Canelo IMO lost the first GGG fight and he kept escaping to his left which GGG didn't not close. But still Canelo is such a good counterpuncher that he might slow down Benavides.
Wishful thinking. Is this what it has come to? From GGG,who was supposedly the one who was going to end Canelo for good by knocking his block off to an obscure fighter who is too lazy to even make weight. This is how desperate Canelo haters have become. From GGG the ko king to a fat, overweight fighter who does not even care enough about his world championship to get in shape in order to defend it. This is who is going to beat Canelo? Canelo, eats and sleeps boxing all Benavidez does is eat.
Guy relax just because I picked Benevidez to beat Canelo makes me a hater? Make sure your Canelo Alvarez hat is not on too tight.
Benevidez has made mistakes in his life and career but Canelo as well got popped with PED’s, was that professional of him? I don’t think Canelo wants to fight Benevidez that would be his last option. He’s already going the Plant,Andrade and GGG route. No talks about Benevidez who would be a WBC mandatory but I bet Canelo won’t want to fight his mandatory when it’s Benevidez. Don’t worry WBC will elevate Canelo to WBC franchise champ. Come on man all I want is the best fight the best, plus benevidez young and hungry and likes to fight toe to toe.
Charlo
I don't think the others actually do very well.
Benavidez has size & power but is cement footed and blocks punches with his face he is made to order.
Plant is a good technical boxer albeit one-handed, untested & has no pop.
Andrade is fragile & his technique is sloppy as fvck. For someone talked up so highly about his skills and such his punching technique is almost on par with Wilders.
I'll go with Charlo I think he has the size, athleticism, toughness, fundamentals, power to give Canelo a very good fight. I don't think the best way to beat a Canelo is a slippery southpaw especially any that have no guard with their hands by their knees. If someone is to beat him it'll be someone able to take center ring with a tight guard & plenty of variety in them, an explosive counter-puncher that can beat him at his own game. Charlo is the only one I see potentially capable.
My money would be on Andrade. He's really talented and hasn't reached the level people thought he'd be at by now. He's got that Billy Joe style, slick south paw, which would give Canelo problems..
but the problem with dethroning Canelo is nobody wants to fcking take it from him. Even Billy Joe last night. I thought he'd have the heart, balls to be bold enough to put it straight on him. But no, he fought tentative until mid way into the fight. To beat Canelo you have to make it a Holyfield type strategy against Tyson. Don't let him get his power off. Rough him up, do not let him set up his power and take the fight from him. Billy Joe, while he might might've been dusted early, should have put way more pressure on Canelo.. I guess his gas tank doesn't permit that kind of assault.
I can't suggest Mall til he fights at 168. If he's looking good at 168 he could be the most likely choice doe. Right now I think David is the guy most likely to beat Canelo at 168.
Another desperate no-hoper Canelo haters are now pinning their false hopes too.
