Like for me Tyson Fury is about the only one with some wit and a genuine personality.
They're all nice guys or you may as well interview a plank of wood.
I'm not saying go full on WWE here but look at Jake Paul he takes Floyds hat and runs away like an immature 12yr old kid ''hehe i got ur hat, i got ur hat hehe'' as cringe as it is it works, it sells. He's not a marketing genius at all he's just a simpleton. A very infantile minded individual and it appeals to 12yr olds and it appeals to UFC and boxing fans because they can't wait to see him get laced. Its not done on purpose as a strategy the guy is just a mong.
I'm not saying you have to be a bellend and publicly humiliate yourself but would it really hurt these fighters to say or do something a little controversial from time to time? I'm not saying go full on Mike Tyson and threaten to eat an opponents kids but cause a bit of drama, live a little.
This is why journeymen like Derek Chisora keep getting big fights because 1. He comes to fight 2. He's a mad man.
Sometimes being a good or great fighter just isn't enough especially in todays world.
Conor McGregor, Colby, a lot of these UFC guys realise it, about time boxers did.
No way.
Is that true? I didn’t know that.
Here is his debut;

He fought for the title in his next fight but suffered a torn bicep
He works as a personal trainer now & is looking to make a comeback this year at Cruiserweight.
Can you believe he is 41 already? I guess because he is so babyfaced I always assumed he was much younger than he in fact is.
As a 'hardcore boxing fan' a lot of times I am not even excited about big fights these days even after the pandemic purely because the build up is so lame. There is just no buzz!
I'm liking Canelo improving his English and saying stuff like ''if he wants the entire Cowboys Stadium, he can have it., in regards to the ring size drama, Boxing needs more of this especially from a guy like this that isn't much of a talker.
That happens over time anyway to where only a few superfights will get you going, its a plastic world its so hard to stand out without being over the top WWE BS, with boxing its heritage is too noble to go that far, but the dollar is creating the Mayweather plastic and the biggest names are defecting for the dollar, this is the world today its not just boxing.
Boxing has plenty of characters, I have no idea what you are fussing about.
So YOU want more eccentric characters? Clown type persona's?
Boxers do not come across like soccer or basketball players who can be generic, because they represent a team and a host of sponsors.
Plenty of characters in boxing.
:D
He went to BKB & retired undefeated, retiring after a torn bicep.
#Goat
I don't think I've laughed so much in my life watching someone fight before, what a showman.

What about Danny “D-MAC” Mcintosh?
Or did he retire?

For me, its just about the action. I tend to avoid the interviews because of the reasons you mentioned. I cringe at the intelligence level of some people
