He honestly doesn't look that bad and you can tell he's taking the sport seriously
He wouldn't win vs an active fighter but i wouldn't expect him to get KO'd in the first round neither
Logan - Not particularly. He's a physical specimen but not physically strong & doesn't have the mentality of a fighter.
Jake on the other hand whether deluded or not does have the mentality of a fighter & appears to definitely have some sort of power. He's relatively athletic and has a few tricks up his sleeve. Considering his lack of experience I think he is quite advanced though basic he has learned how to set up traps and processes things rather quickly for his level of experience.
In his first or second fight he tried to parry what he suspected was a jab & almost caught a left hook, the next time he steps back and parries thus being out of range for the left hook. Basic or not he is able to see patterns and quickly adjust to them.
I think he is a bit of a natural athlete, a natural fighter.
A lot of celebrities, people that box are just so devoid of talent, natural ability, athleticism that you can't really teach them sh1t! There is just zero talent to work with, period.
Its why I have such admiration for the patience of amateur trainers.
This kid isn't like that though he is very dedicated, motivated and does pick up things quickly.
I haven't a clue how far he can go but all things considered (starting off in his twenties, no amateur pedigree) I think he'll do just fine.
Jake Paul has put some work in at least. An average club level fighter from what I can see from his extremely limited competition.
The other Paul, the bigger one, doesn't look like he's put in the work. From the only fight I've seen anyway, I mean. Maybe he's improved.
Jake Paul is pretty good for a celebrity boxer. Not saying he would beat real boxers but he knows what he’s doing. If you’re a celebrity with no extensive boxing background, he’ll beat you.
he’s actually very calm in the ring. Most of these celebrities that take up boxing fall apart and forget everything they learn once they’re fighting. He keeps him form well. The last shot he knocked out that basketball player with was a pretty decent show of boxing coordination by landing a counter while moving backwards with good form. Some pro boxers don’t even have good coordination to move back and throw punches at the same time.
He’s hardly going to be a respected fighter at a good level but I’d say he at least as a pretty decent capacity for learning how to box. But he’s obviously and athletic guy, like his brother. Just because he made millions making silly YouTube videos, it doesn’t mean he isn’t athletic and can’t learn how to box a bit.
