I don't rate him as high as Ortiz and Boots but this guy has progressed very well the last few years. Seemed like it was just yesterday when he was struggling against cab drivers. Now? He's out classing some solid vets. Have to remember he was only 19 years old when he turned pro and barely had any amateur fights. The best is still to come with him.
Early to say, plus he’s in a very tough division
He’s still young though, so maybe In 4 years time, the division could be weaker than now. So it depends on the landscape.
If he keeps improving, It’s not far fetched to think he could pick up some vacant title with a right opponent or get matched against a weak belt holder at some point.
Let’s get real, with so many belts around, you don’t need to be elite to be a world champ.
All valid points... I’m going on guts, feelings... I’m just seeing something great in him.
ive been wrong before, Allen Iversin.. my guy from George Town!
Still too early to say, but he is exciting to watch and clearly has talent and power. There are those who are ready to bow at his feet. There are those who want to hate on him, or would see him thrown into a tough fight before he is ready. Personally, I like to see exciting fights, so I am enjoying the ride. Samuel Vargas is little more than an old gatekeeper, he got ruined by Virgil Ortiz Jr. Look at what David Avenasyen did to Josh Kelly. Why not Conor Benn vs. Avenasyen next? I am not ready to call Conor a world-beater just yet. His style is one which will be nullified by somebody who can take his power, or who can smother his work, or otherwise nullify his offence. Think Shawn Porter. Conor looks massively improved in a very short time, but there are still way more questions than answers when it comes to this kid. He looks great against the right opponent, and I think Eddie Hearn knows that. The fighters they called out in the aftermath is quite a telling list. Old, chinny and low-output. Sounds good for his 0. What about high-output? Granite-chinned? Prime? We will see. The kid did great against Vargas, so props to him.
How you doing big real deal Will.. you know me by name.
nigel benn’s son seems like a real deal.
his pops got up after being knocked outta the ring and crippled an Emanuel Stewart/steward, protege!

That fight was a joke. Sure benn probably would have won in regardless, but Vargas was even hurt. Anyone who follows boxing knows Vargas has an iron jaw. I think Ortiz will toy with Benn. Boots would do so even worse.
Based on what?
All 3 are top prospects. None of them fought any really dangerous 147 guy so far.

You forget to mention Tim Tszyu who is atm a contender but just like Ortiz and Boots shined is his coming out fight.
These guys will be the new generation.
I didn`t forget, but Tim is not at 147.

Make way for the young lions!!!
I like Tim Tszyu, Australian accent and all!
I think he is top prospect, like Ortiz jr, Boots and Yeleussinov.
All these guys will have world champion belts.

Agreed. I kinda don’t like the Chavez jr type sissy following in his father’s foot steps.
