He was dropped by body shot in Chakhkiev fight Yeah i forgot that fight, was a crazy war lol. He was also dropped agaisnt Sillah in the first round. so i guess If Smith comes out guns blazing, ala fonfara. he could end it quickly.

A healthy Vlasov with fair judging I think wins this quite comfortably. The thing is, is he healthy and will they give him a fair shake? Its no secret they want Smith vs Beterbiev next. Agreed on the 1st part... But wouldn't we want to see the best man fight Artur... Vlasov vs Beterbiev could be huge as well in Russia ... :cool:

I think Joe is more accustomed to being the underdog but I feel he is going to put a spiteful beating on Vlasov for making him miss the holidays and precious time with his family just to have to call off the initial fight... Should be a good one regardless of what happens though.

Yeah, to me, it wouldn't be that big of an upset, Vlasov has loads of experience, high level boxing, long dude with power at 175. Smith is only a very slight favorite for me

He's inactive and I thought he lost the fight againt vslov, he also looked like trash against 50 year old arthur abraham. It's boxing man, anything can happen between these top 5-10 fighters. It's what makes this fight so intriguing. This is more of a fight to see where Joe is at in his career. I remember a couple fights ago while I was watching Smith battle his way to a split decision against Jesse Hart (a fighter Zurdo Ramirez dominated twice) and thinking man this just isnt going to cut it at the top of the division but then he went on to have a great performance against Alvarez and I'm thinking wow this kid is looking like a top dog again. So yeah I'm hoping he shines tonight. It'll definitely set up something bigger against someone like Ramirez or another top guy in the division.

I wouldn't doubt it. Vlasov had a real good losing effort to Zurdo Ramirez a while back but Joe Smith is not on Zurdo's level so we may very well see an upset here. Vlassov is bigger, longer, more experience, and much slicker then joe. I can see him outpointing the long island stallion. Gilberto Ramirez is only overrated and sucks. I know maxim beat him Joe is way better but it ill be competitive but joe will win, WATCH FOR A JOE LATE ROUND KO

Joe rocked Bivol, who is a much better fighter than Vlasov, a couple of times in their fight. And he was able to absorb all his shots and survive to the final bell. Vlasov can box but does he have enough power to keep Joe off of him all night? Should be an interesting matchup. That's how I looked at it too. Joe fought nine rounds with a broken jaw against Barerra, while at the same time Vlasov has knocked out a few cruisers, I don't see Joe getting dropped.

I just want Joe to win...idc how he does it.

We'll see. I do think Smith showed big improvements in his game in the course of beating Alvarez. We'll have to see whether that was just him having an abnormally good night or if those improvements stick. If so I think he'll win.

Joe lost nearly every round to Bivol, who is the best fighter in division. Joe is good enough to beat E. Alvarez ( as he did), but he is also bad enough to lose to every top 20 guy.

It's possible, sure. But Joe has made some vast improvements, so I see him winning this. He completely dominated his last two fights. The Judge who scored it for Hart has only been working fucking club shows since then.
