Wow, yeah...big time. There are so many comparisons; its scary.
IMHO, If Wilder had the same level of boxing as Joshua (he's too limited to be on the same boxing level as Fury) and the same power in his right hand, he would beat everyone.
If Haye was 6'5 like Okolie, he would have unified the HW division too.
Every fighter is found wanting for some attribute. I wish I could keep my left hand up lol.
(The best all round HW at the moment is AJ, but that's a different thread)
If you haven't had a chance to listen to this interview, I highly recommend it. I found Steward's insight into how mentally fragile the division is to be fascinating.

I don't disagree with that. Wilder fell in love with his power and that's all there is. I used to stick up for his fundamentals back in the day, he had a good jab, set the odd trap and had incredible power with good athleticism. When I first saw him as a prospect, I actually told my dad he reminded me of a Heavyweight Tommy Hearns (although that was mainly based on his build/body type) He probably could have been a great had he applied himself. I've spoken out about guys getting too big for themselves and surrounding themselves with "yes men" causing them to devolve. Wilder is a great example of that. Once he started saying "I only have to be good for a second" I said he was going to lose his next fight.
Both Valuev and Wilder also benefited from a historically terrible division.

Surely you jest. You're talking about the same Valuev that really lost his title to a 50 year old Holyfield? That Valuev? :lol1:
I mean, slightly - but only because of the ridiculous statement that Wilder's HW resume was better than Haye's.
If Hrgovic doesn`t learn how to move the head, Wilder stops him in brutal fashion. Hrgovic is ****ing statue.
So bloody right, statue is the right call.
Hrgovic seems like a hype job to me, this sparring was in 2013 when he was around 19. So he has been around but still hasn’t done s hit. If Wilder isn’t suffering from any mental health issues then I expect him to stop this hypejob within 3 rounds.
Not a chance. Haye beating Valuev is better than any win Wilder has. Haye managing to even wobble Valuev is better than any KO that Wilder has. Valuev was 100 pounds heavier. Hell, Haye beating Chisora is on par with Wilder's best win against Ortiz, and thats being generous to Wilder.
Even Haye's loses are better than Wilder's - Losing to Fury doesn't trump losing to 2011 version of Klitschko.

Yeah, I can agree that he was a mountain and its no surprise he was so durable. If Valuev is a circus act then so is Wilder. They have 1 key attribute that led them to a title.

Come on, Valuev was a circus act, not some world beater. You point out that Valuev was 100lbs heavier then act like it was a feat to heave been quicker than him for twelve rounds?

I would love to see it this year. Hrgovic seems to have a solid chin, i would be interested to see if he could take a flush right hand from Wilder though. make it happen. Ill take Hrgovic by TKO in the 5th or 6th. :boxing:
It's a weird thing to say, but Wilder actually has a better HW resume than Haye...
Easily... Haye has one of the worst HW resumes of any legitimate HW world champion in history.
Haye knew he had no business at HW, he just conned people enough into getting the Klitschko cash out. I remember him facing Audley Harrison and a completely washed John Ruiz on PPV over here acting like they were legit contenders. :lol1:
