My poll shows a few ppl consider Canelo a hypejob.
Will beating Charlo finally silence critics? Would Charlo be the straw that broke the camels back in regards to this? Or would the narrative become that he needs to beat Andrade,or Ggg....again,or Bivol, Beterbieve? Or that he cheated Charlo by making fight at 168 or by not giving him x__ time notice?
It seems a very likely scenario that Plant doesn't want the fight in September (I told y'all after his last fight Canelo wouldnt be slightest bit worried after
that performance from Plant,& Canelo has already said he wants him next after BJS) I don't think he's ready to go all in. So if Canelo beats Saunders,& Plant doesn't happen, & Charlo gets the call, will the new narrative become that hes ducking Plant? Ducking Benevidez,Andrade,Lhw unknowns?
Canelo wants to make history and become Undisputed at 168...once he accomplish that (and I think he will) then I think he will give the fans all these fights they're asking for: GGG Trilogy maybe, Charlo, Benavidez...
Yeah he is right though, they will build someone else up as "The Guy To Beat Canelo" but that is common in boxing for the Top Guy. It is kind of funny because some of the biggest Canelo Fans now did the exact same thing to Mayweather. How Ironic!
I don't know that he can do anything that will silence people as while some of the dislike is understandable in some individual cases, in general a lot of it is insane. Kovalev showed that some people will claim dive/fix if he beats anyone higher than 168. Even if he cleans out 168 the final line people will fall on is that it is a weak division this generation. While its true and is a reason some people like Eubank went there imo as 160 was too stacked people conveniently ignore some huge fighters boiled down to 168 to avoid 175 and be weight bullies (callum smith example). So now they have the narrative that 175 + wins are fixes, and 168 is a weak division. That leaves 160 and even if he managed to boil down no matter what he achieves people would then say weight bully as he has been as high as 175, despite him being 5'8. Or he would be unable to boil down and need catchweights so people would have that excuse. Even thinking of fights beyond boxing like if he crossed over and took on a top tier mma fight I don't think the whole of boxing would be behind him, some stupid shit like making boxing look weak as have to go to mma for payday/fans most likely off the top of my head. Some people will just always find a reason.
The thing is love him or hate him he doesn't need to silence the critic. No one will be universally loved, but the world is huge. Instead of trying to win over people that quite frankly will never be won over he should just keep doing as he has been and earn new fans/pull fresh fans to the sport instead I think.
Canelo career is forever tainted due to the supposed tainted meat. He can knockout AJ and still he'd get no credit as he shouldnt. Cheaters dont deserve credit
Clenbuterol is eaten daily in larger dosages by millions,& Canelo has been absolved completely when VADA/WADA agreed the amount he had & especially since it decreased as expected shows it was from the meat sold Everywhere in Mexico.
He even has proof of the exact steak he ate & what restaurant too, I'd like to see you turn down Dining with Bill Clinton at Sonora grill (despite Bill being a pos imo)

Mr. Kushking stop day dreaming and hoping Plant fight wont happen. The only reason Plant fight wont happen is if Clenelo lose his fight prior. But this fight almost sealed and there's no need for Plant to price out coz Clenelo is paying him more than his worth. And im telling you this mr. KushKing, when Plant fight happen, even Clenbuterol won't help Clenelo to win the fight. Clenelo is in for the ass whooping and Caleb Plant would be the first ever undisputed super middle weight champ...
I guess my question is basically who can Canelo beat that would forever silence critics for good?(like when I said that if Loma beat Teo I would proclaim him the truth & never again doubt his greatness)(Ironically in defeat Loma proved to me he is a deserving of praise fighter by taking the fight I thought hed duck)
So who is everyone's test for ginger that he hasn't beat yet?(or does he have to ko older barely used Ggg?in the sense that GGG is older but still elite champ with lil wear & tear after few career rds Because up til few fights ago every of his fights was ko )
Hes literally running out of elite competition with belts he didn't vacate when moving divisions. Is it going to take him beating Artur? Or will they say he cheated him by aging him w inactivity (Beterbieve became champ at like 34 yrs old & is now 36 yrs old, which is older than Kov was but with very lil wear,so like new condition,(they say they don't make them like that anymore with adamantium & hairy as fck Siberian sable fur to boot )
Your talking too much but the logic is simple. After he unify the division then he can fight and beat Charlo, Benavidez and Berlanga so he can silence those idiot critics. He can also rematch and beat ggg. Simple...
I don't know why you're acting like Canelo is the victim. He gets far more credit than he deserves relative to what he's accomplished. If he has critics it's because:
He got popped for drugs.
And he doesn't fight the best.
Honestly, I think he peaked at 154 and that's why he's resorted to carefully choosing his opponents.
Of course fighting Beterbiev, with absolutely no A-side nonsense, would be huge. Fighting GGG at this point would not mean much at all. Fighting GGG right after Cotto would have meant a lot though.
Canelo is a very good fighter. Beating Charlo would be a nice win as would beating Saunders or Plant, they are all legit wins. These are the kind of fights you should expect from a fighter of Canelo's caliber. Beterbiev is above and beyond, not because Beterbiev is great but because Canelo would be giving up a lot in size and strength and I just don't see him winning that one.
You have to analyze the entire situation not just what advantage Canelo had,but also the situation as a whole. Canelo in the 3 fights hes used Ibf rules in were in situations where he was fighting a much bigger man & jumping divisions in 2 of the 3,vs champs who could rehydrate to hw with over 6' frames if allowed to gain unchecked,& he was still testing the waters at those weights but jumping straight in with Champs without tune ups & he had only had 2 fights at mw.(the Jacobs fight can be seen as flagrant A side advantage & taking away Jacobs weight advantage,BUT at the end of the day Jacobs blew off the rules anyways & actually ended up w advantage by Canelo abiding by the rules not Jacobs.(even though Jacobs beat Deryev last fight while abiding by same rules)
I was watching an interview(gotta find it) of Canelo where he was saying he wouldn't employ any kind of rehydration on anyone anymore but Jacobs was known as a weight bully after ggg fight weigh in debacle & that the other fighter Jacobs was willing to do ibf rules Because of having beat Deryev with them & because Jacobs actually wanted the fight unlike most,he did that to get the fight made easier it sounds like.

:haha::rofl: BRAVO! you are ahead of the game. Charlo is the guy used as a stick to beat Canelo with now. So sounds like you think Plants better scalp at 168 despite Charlos big size for mw?(regardless of what they fight at Charlos the bigger guy so if Canelo fights him at 160 they'll say he weightdrained him by not fighting at 168)
For what it's worth, the fight I want is Canelo/Benevidez. The only chance a guy like Plant, or Saunders for that matter, would have would be to make the fight almost unwatchable.
Because beating a guy who has never fought at 168 and who has a weak resume would be great? It would be a good win for sure but let's not make more of it than it is.

If Plant prices out,& Nelo beats Charlo at 168 like Smith w/o ibf rules, what would the narrative be? | BoxingScene Community
