On his interview with IFLTV;
Unsure how to Embed on my phone but here’s the link
https://youtu.be/Piu_4h0eq7Y
He says “Whatever we do we can’t win”
Yeah....except just having competent judges and refs. If you do that then you win.
He even had the audacity to say that the two 118-111 cards for the Barret-Martinez fights weren’t bad cards.
He was saying the same idiocy after the terrible Ritson-Vasquez decision.
Here are the facts, until Robert Smith and all of his mates are removed from U.K. boxing then this will never end.
No matter how bad the scoring is and how terrible the refereeing is, it will always be defended and excused by Robert Smith. That’s clear as day to see.
There is nothing he won’t defend and accept. We’ve been seeing this here for decades and it’s only getting worse.
No one is willing to say anything because everyone’s scared to say something, even Eddie Hearn who criticised the cards live last Saturday said in his IFLTV interview today that “Our judges and refs are great officials” when he knows full well that that is not the case at all.
Howard Foster and Ian John Lewis in particular are two of the worst referees and judges in the world. But realistically the entire lot of them are terrible and incompetent.
The officials need cleared out and replaced by new, younger, competent officials or the U.K. well end up going down the same road as Germany etc in regards to fighters not wanting to fight over here.
It's a massive problem. I remember Hearn saying the judge will be forced to explain his scoring (this is for the Ritson vs Vasquez fight) for anyone who saw this fight will know that Ritson won at most 3 rounds.
The judge who scored it something like 117-111 Ritson apparently explained his scoring and all was fine. So I can only assume this judge said that he like Ritson plodding forward with his very ineffective aggression, and the board were like, yes, that's a great explanation.
The whole subjective thing (excuse) is overplayed at times, in close fights Kovalev vs Ward, Canelo vs Golovkin 2, yeah sure, but not in very one-sided fights when two people have different styles. When it's clear, it's clear, subjective should not come into it.
Kiko Martinez in the eyes of most won between 7 and 10 of the rounds, yet two judges have him 2 rounds! It's laughable. Another recent shocker was the Florian Marku 8 round draw vs some English guy. Marku won 6 clear rounds, the English guy won 1, and one round was about even (swing) Marku also won one round 10-8 with a big knockdown, yet the referee (sole-judge) scored it 76-76.
What is it with these A STAR (laughing my ass off) English referees also being the sole judge of some fights? it's a joke. I'm English by the way, I just think the way we do things here is embarrassing at times. Hearn needs to step up and really sort this mess out instead of talking around it. He keeps praising the board, who are useless. Sort it out Earn with Hearn. Get stay humble Joshua to give you a hand.
You surprised? They're beyond corrupt.
“The Board said in a statement Friday: "Following extensive consideration of footage and Mr. O'Connor's evidence supplied, the Stewards are satisfied that Mr. O'Connor was not in possession of any telephone or handheld device whilst carrying out his duties as a Judge in the contest between Lewis Ritson and Miguel Vazquez and his scoring of said bout was not affected in any way.“

Whats in his ****ing hand??
Not surprised at all.
No one can expect anything to change.
Yeah - none of it makes sense until you accept they are actually doing what they're supposed to. "It's not a bug, it's a feature."
For example - here in the US, we now have instant replay in certain states. But even with the addition of the new tech - what do the commissions do? They put the same old guys in front of the new tech - like Robert Byrd manning the replay booth at Maloney v Franco.
I'm sure people remember it taking about 30 minutes for the review to take place - all taking place independently and with the highest security measures of course.....as the promoter of event Bob Arum hovers over Robert Byrd telling him what he's seeing on replay. nobody says a word to Arum being all in the mix with the replay ref - it was a farce.
Having no fans has really put these guys on Front st.
You surprised? They're beyond corrupt.
