Look I'm a fan of the guy. Clearly he's talented & intelligent about boxing & in general + if he beat any the guys we talk about more than him personally it wouldn't shock me.
BUT the reality is guys under 147 have lil chance at becoming a big name draw/PPV guy & the fact he's not a big puncher hurts his chances even more. And honestly that's my same argument against Shakur becoming a big star too.
Tank
Teofimo
GRJ
Lomachenko
Farmer
Colbert
Shakur
Ryan
JoJo Diaz
LSC
Haney
With more guys probably on the come up. The future is bright below 147 with good names, a couple of these guys will be 147, but idk about PPV draw but I can see the top guy(s) become big draws/due well at the live gate. Give it time remember Floyd started at 130 too.
A little premature to call it a superfight. Hell stevenson vs the berchalt-valdez winner is barely a great fight
Is it not? Don't most people feel Shakur "ain't fought nobody." & isn't there a decent amount of people who believe Berchelt is the best at 130?
Idk that Chris ever gets THAT big. He's a smaller cat who isn't the hardest puncher. Those types always have a upward battle to stardom.
That said it'd obviously be a fun ass fight now or in a few years when both have proven more in the ring.
He has more personality than people think. Arguably the most in them lower divisions & certainly more than Shakur. Shakur has a head start cause of his affiliations, amateur background, & the way he's been moved tho.
"Highly anticipated superfight" that did under 200k buys in both fights? Looks like it wasn't nearly as anticipated as that article states, was it?
And I loved that fight or those fights going in and rated both highly. But yeah, Ward/Kovalev definitely was no superfight.
You didn't answer the question.
I included Ward & Kovalev for a reason & I'm glad I did.

Now I disproved what you said. Now, who makes up these "definitions" or rules?

Nah, you can't just make your own definition of a super fight. You can say it is the next "best" fight in the sport but super fight? This doesn't fit the definition of that.
Ward vs Kovalev was at the time the best quality fight of the year as it had two top 3 P4P fighters going at it. But both PPVs did less than 200k buys so not close to a super fight.
Canelo vs GGG were super fights as both eclipsed the million buys mark. Wilder vs Fury did over 850k buys and some wouldn't even call that a super fight.

Absolutely positively undoubtedly unequivocally not.
Wow, lol.
I'm a real boxing fan, if a super fight isn't based on skills & talent then it ain't a super fight to me. I could careless what casual boxing fans say. (Not saying that's what y'all are) But y'all putting too much stock into popularity & what appeals to them & not quality of a matchup. This fight is the next Spence vs Crawford, Aj vs Wilder, Ward vs Kovalev etc. This matchup needs to be clamored for the way those are/were.

Bad example Tank and Ryan are the two most popular guys in the division even more then Teo, Loma, and Haney. Both these guys not so much. This is like Ortiz vs Ugas

Super fight is not just about the quality of the match up, but also how big the fight is. I'm sorry, but Stevenson and Colbert aren't in the same STRATOSPHERE as Tank and Garcia in terms of popularity.
And Tank vs Garcia isn't a super fight right now either. It's a big fight but that's it.
But Stevenson and Colbert both seem to be the real deal and are very talented. I would love to see this fight in 2022.
I think superfight is getting thrown around to much u do realize this fight selling crawford #s or less. Check it a superfight consist of top 5 fighters fighting and it being a blockbuster selling over 1.5m copies ppv an 8 figure or close gate. A big fight would be 500k-1.5m in other words no fighter outside canelo n maybe an aj vs fury fight is giving u big fight let alone super fight numbers. Spence vs crawford isnt a super fight it aint selling .

If Tank & Ryan is a super fight this is too! & obviously the fight isn't happening right now or next. But this is the next super fight.

Both guys are talented but unproven and unknown, that doesn’t create a super fight.
