Not sure if this interview was posted a few weeks ago? But there was a statement made by Fury which made it appear as if he might be having second thoughts about the AJ fight.
The interviewer asks a question about Billy Joe Saunder's chances against Canelo and Fury relates it back to himself and his own inactivity. Fury seems hesitant about proceeding with the AJ fight, without taking a tune up or two first.
"No heavyweight has a chance with me when I'm active... But the good old cliche with me a Billy Joe is we're never active. When I go to fight Joshua soon I would have been out the ring for 18 months again. My previous stint was 2 and a half year. It's not good preparation! So Billy Joe needs another fight and another one after that before Canelo...
I tried to get a fight in December but promoter let me down. It's going to be AJ active and me inactive but you know what I'm that far ahead of them all it doesn't matter."
Interesting he said the promoter let him down re December...
I think Warren made a comment along the lines of 'the money wasn't there'.
Probably tells you a bit about Fury's expectations, the standard of fighter he was lining up, and the appetite of fans for a Fury fight.
Or maybe a bit about his promoters' nervousness around putting a demotivated Fury in with a heavyweight.
he needs a warm up fight imo to be fully sharp on the big night after that layoff
Team Fury knows that he's liable to blow up. Why take the risk that is in a nothing fight when there is a fortune on the line?
Have you seen the state of him? He looks exactly like he did in the build up to Klitschko 2.
This time it will be a success if they just manage to get him to the fight.

Tyson Fury's self belief is not really based on conventional science 'Fury has been training consistently'.
Who is Tyson Fury going to fight, if he is to take one more fight? Anthony Joshua would most like face Usyk, where as Fury would be facing a fighter nobody has really heard of.
I believe a fighter like Fury gets prepared in the gym, daily repetition like in the army. In the past he did not have to fly in trainers from overseas 'Because his Uncle Peter Fury was always there for him' But that is not the case these days with Sugar Hill Steward etc
Fury is very clever, he knows he has been chosen as the overwhelm favourite, this is a way to release a bit of that expectations. Fury always perform better when he is a massive underdog, not a massive favourite against a good opponent.
Fury could of so easily made himself appear as the underdog a long time ago, but? It was Fury himself who instigated the defamation of Joshua's character inside of the ring.
Whether it be in the media or in boxing circles, there has been a repetition of condition 'Joshua is a robot, and is petrified in the line of fire' these are the things that have been repeated continually.
All of this being a favorite at elite level, is a new experience for Tyson Fury 'He is a champion, no longer Robin Hood the Prince of Thieves'.
Tyson Fury has been in this position before, and now he is back again.
I hope AJ wins by KO. Aj has been a good champion fighting top contenders often. He got stopped but came right back. AJ does most of his talking in the ring with his fists. He is a good boxer and an accurate fast hard puncher with both hands. Fury is very good but he talks and brags way too much for me. I want to see him humbled by AJ and see how he deals with that.

Saunders fought twice in 2019 and he had a fight last December. Canelo fought twice in 2019 and he had a fight last December so Saunders has had the same level of activity as Canelo has had. When Saunders fights Canelo he will be coming off of a 12 round fight only 5 months prior so that is normal these days and no big deal or a legit excuse for losing to a better fighter.
I don't think Fury has the brains to be bothered by favourite status.
I just think he's headed down his previous path. He looks just like he did in the Klitschko 2 build up. And he's not in his twenties anymore.
I've always thought the best Joshua beats the best Fury. It's just a style matchup that favours the boxer/puncher. But I'm very confident we won't see the best Fury... and even the most fervent Joshua hater knows that Joshua will come in perfect condition.
I think if Fury makes it as far as the fight, then it will be Joshua. And it won't be close.
I remember years ago, during a period of inactivity for Fury, he was talking about bringing over Carlos Takam for a real but unofficial boxing match in training camp. I think a couple of behind closed doors fights like that would be good for him, and Joshua should sneak one in as well. Anyone remember that story and when it was?
What is going on mate? On some other threads, I see you comparing Tyson Fury to Muhammad Ali 'And claiming many other things'.
But now, against Anthony Joshua 'A fighter who is traumatized, and petrified in the line of fire? Tyson Fury needs a tune up fight etc
Are you starting to get spooked Nash Out? I thought this was a easy fight for Tyson Fury?
Myself personally I am clear when it comes to the fight 'I think Tyson Fury should win'. But we have still yet to see him handle a situation at elite level, where he is the favorite coming into a big fight. Tyson Fury for the most part of his career, has relished and excelled in the environment of being a underdog.
It is easier actually being the underdog 'Less pressure, nobody expects nothing of you'.
I don't think Joshua is completely useless I just think he needs more work, the cake is half baked, but timing isn't on his side
Are you a big Fury fan? Would you refer to yourself as a hardcore fan etc
People seem spooked anyway.

Don’t worry. Don’t feel offended if an Afro-Brit represents England dethroning Fury. ;)
You've got me wrong; I want AJ to KO Fury.
I'm a proper AJ fanboy apparently.
Inactivity must not be an issue for TGK Fury... Even part-timer GrandPac who is older and more inactive wants to go straight to the elites (according to him) at 40+...
