When I look at this match up. Andy is all wrong for Ortiz.Ortiz is far too slow to be getting into exchanges with Ruiz. Aside from maybe two fights where Ortiz actually looked like maybe he could be a serious threat, he has looked far too average against vastly subpar competition for me to ever be confident that he could beat a top heavyweight.

If Andy is serious about his conditioning as he claims he is and comes into the ring like he did in the first Joshua fight or even the Parker fight, I like Ruiz in this one, and it would be an easy win. I kinda agree, if Ruiz actually trains, he is probably the third best hw around.

They have to slug it out. They are both too fat to run away. It would be a good hard hitting fight, They both have surprisingly fast hands. There are so many good fights that can be made between Ruiz, Ortiz, Povetkin and some others. I will be really mad if these guys keep avoiding each other. All these guys already had their opportunities on top level, so there is no reason to wait.

I think Ruiz learned a lesson and will be thinner and in better shape from now on, He will still be fat but not nearly as fat as he has been. I think Ruiz in good condition would beat Ortiz. They are both good fighters but Ruiz is much younger and in his prime while Ortiz is 41 years old.That puts the odds in Ruiz's favor plus I think Ruiz is training harder now with a better trainer and team to help him.

If Ruiz comes in below 265, Ruiz. If he comes in above that, old man Ortiz.

I didn't even see the last Ortiz fight -I read it was a fiasco though and he didn't really need to do anything. going back to the Wilder 2 fight - I just remember Wilder throwing about 3 punches until the KO and Ortiz could not create much separation during those free rounds. He won rounds but he probably did even less in the 2nd fight. At this point given how Wilder was taken apart it leaves me wondering why the supposed technical Ortiz could make no adjustments between the 1st and 2nd fight - he got stopped both times and did even less in the 2nd fight. Ruiz also made no adjustments between fights but at least he got a W, outboxing and outslugging a better boxer than Wilder. Ruiz outboxing and stopping AJ is better than Ortiz hardly being able to outbox, and getting stopped by a one handed fighter in Wilder. As bad as it was, Ruiz probably had more success in the 2nd fight than Ortiz did. I know it comes down to styles anyway, so I think Ortiz will have a hard time finding the range with Ruiz getting small and pressing forward...Ortiz will not be able to leave his right arm dangling against Ruiz who has a huge left hook..he is going to be way busier. Ortiz is quality but the activity is getting pretty low

Ortiz UD. All round better fighter. Ortiz is 42 now so maybe he’s declined since we last saw him but I still think he can beat Ruiz even if he is past his prime.

I have no idea. Who knows what kinda shape Ruiz shows up in and who knows how Ortiz looks at this age and what kind of stamina he's got left.
