It seems like just yesterday Canelo was a teenager/early 20s and people were talking about him like he was a kid, I didn't even think about until the Smith fight, but he's now 30 years old.
Hopefully he'll fight a real elite 160 or 168 pounder before its too late.
I agree on Canelo, but think you went a little over baord with Spence at the very least. Charlo also just took a step up fight with Drevey so I think he deserves a little credit. Crawford retired a long time ago. He's just collecting checks now.
LOL! That's a step backwards! He should've been fighting the guys that beat Derev! Like GGG and Jacobs.
But in Charlo's pathetic career, that fight was a step up! :lol1:
I sort of keep track of the age of the very best fighters because age matters a lot . Canelo got off to a good start at becoming the unified champ at 168 by beating the hell out of Callum Smith. Canelo wants all the titles at 168 so I think he will fight the best guys at that weight. Age 30 is usually late prime and the age where a boxer might slowly but surely start to get a bit worse but it varies from boxer to boxer, Canelo looked better than ever against Callum Smith.
Are you new?
Canelo has faced more elite talent than anyone else so don’t go there and yes he’s only 30 and In his absolute prime right now.
While other 30 yr old like Spence, Charlos and 34 yr old Crawford have faced nothing but bums and fall waaaaaay behind what canelo has accomplished.

yeah, would hate to see THAT happen :lol1:
Happens to all fighters. Eventually your timing, reflexes, and speed diminish and you need to be cautious who you fight.
Thats why Floyd and Manny stayed away from certain styles later in their career.
Hell 35 year old Manny didn't want to fight Crawford...
Floyd waited Manny out a bit although both were guilty in over-marinating that fight
Spence avoiding Crawford for couple of years now
DLH avoided certain styles later in his career
Every fighter does it. Sometimes its more obvious than others but NO FIGHTER beats EVERY OTHER FIGHTER in histort of the sport. Thats why matchmaking is used
What i don't get is the criticism directed at him, he has fought literally everyone, from contenders to the older generations to the newer generation to his own generation.
Then you have others who are around the same age, weight class etc as him who have literally done 20% of what he has done, and people want to come on here and tell me he is ducking them...
His style has definitely evolved, and i feel like he learn a lot from the Mayweather fight. He has adapt his style and grown with it. I hope he doesn't get caught out by others who might meet him on a day that he has started to slip.
Because some of these boxers would fight bums after bums, whilst you put yourself through tough camps for bigger challenges, after you have done all that work, they would just come on and out box you, Why? because they are fresher, taken less punishment etc
Who cares?
Half the US wants Trump as president/dictator. You cant worry about others opinions.
Theres a reason Canelo is Top 5 PFP on EVERY list and #1 on MOST lists
Canelo uses a "stand in front of you" defense. That style does not age well especially when youre shorter w/ less reach.
Canelo has 24 months - max - to cement hiis legacy iotherwise his watchmaking will need to be very careful

No way can you fight for 15 years without taking some form of punishment, Canelo of now wasn't the canelo of 6/7 years ago. Yes he has good head movement now, but he wasn't always like this years ago. These years DO catch up with you, a fresher less war torn boxer could come on and beat him in the next few years, especially if he is the only one taking on everyone, and everyone else are just taking on bums/showcase fights.

GGG wasn't elite? Smith wasnt the best 168er?
Canelo turned pro really young and has came a long way. There are many guys at 30 who have not gotten big name fights and are still chasing, but this guy can retire tomorrow and be set for life if he wants to.
But he's been fighting pro since he was like 16. He's an old ass 30.

He has been a pro for 15 years, he should be the war torn by now, turned pro in late 2005. He really has achieved a lot in that time, especially when you look at someone like Charlo who has been a pro for 12 years and they are the same age. Who hasn't really achived anything close to what Canelo has or even have any resume close to what Canelo has.

- -Did anyone ever believe U alchemy was really science?
Of course not!

Again it is all about "Style" as well, he does have good Head Movement and Defense he is not just Eating Punches Flush repeatedly like some fighters
57 Total Pro fights is a lot of fight for sure it is no doubt about that. However I don't think Canelo will be fighting past 35 honest because he just won't have to. In Fact I think IF he unifies 168 you will start hear Rumblings of retirements because honestly WTF is left to do besides Collect Big Paydays after that. He would put himself in the history books once and have a legit Claim as the greatest Mexican Boxer Of All Times which Reynoso recently remind everybody that is the GOAL for him
A Fresh War Free 30 years old though because stylistically he doesn't take much punishment which is smart!
