In an ideal world I’d like to see:
Lopez-Loma 2. First fight wasn’t all that exciting but I’d be interested to see what adjustments each could make. Loma would have to be more aggressive in the rematch which would make for a better fight as he’ll create more openings for himself whilst leaving more openings for Teofimo to exploit in the process.
Tank vs Garcia. I won’t lie I think Tank ices him pretty easily but this fight could be huge and could also create a new superstar. It would also be very exciting as long as it lasts as both possess speed and power.
Haney vs Fortuna. Haney may have a belt but he still has little credibility because he’s never beat anyone. Beating Fortuna would change that. Also clears his mandatory providing Garcia decides to fight Tank.
Now for two more random ones. :lol1:
Kambosos vs Linares. Not hugely interested in this fight but Kambosos remains a mandatory and TR seems to be interested in having Lopez face Kambosos in Australia. Personally, I think Kambosos is a decent fighter but a win against a guy like Linares with name value would earn him far more credibility and would make a potential Lopez fight a little more interesting. A win also gets Linares back in the title picture.
Campbell vs Patera. Campbell achieved a lot as an amateur but as a pro the most prestigious title he’s won is commonwealth title. That’s massively underwhelming for a guy with his pedigree. I’d like to see him capture the European title before he retires- which should be soon IMO.
Realistically:
Lopez/Kambosos
Haney/Garcia
Davis/Fortuna
Linares/Tennyson
Campbell/Selby
Lomachenko/Mendy
Then you're set up for the winners of those fights meeting in some fashion late in the year
I had Kambosos winning by a point tbh. Felt the KD in the last round was the difference. Could have went the opposite way but it was a very close, wasn’t a clear robbery.
Oh gosh no that was a horrible decision. I do remember the commentators going absolutely ape **** when Bey went down though lol. They knew Kambosas was way behind and if there was going to be any funny business with the cards that would be their justification, so of course they had to seize the moment and ride with it. At the end of the day stuff like that just looks bad for the sport. A rematch is what's needed.
I'd say Loma against any of the top of 4 in Garcia,Tank,Lopez or Ganey but Loma should move back down to 130 and fight Tank there so
Loma vs Tank(130lb)
Teo vs Tank
Garcia vs Haney
Any of those 4 stepping in with each other would do though...or 5 if Loma stays at 135
tank-lopez - for a brawl fight.
garcia-haney - from amateur to pro, we'll see if ryan can win now.
loma-lopez 2 - i'm sure loma already know how to handle lopez now. no room for him to give the 1st half again.
My ideal fight is Teofimo vs Tank
They’re the two most accomplished and polished of the 135ers. Ryan and Haney need another year or so
Loma needs to drop back to 130. He’s not a real 135
I was close to putting Lopez- Tank as my number one tbf.

Tank vs KingRy
(I got Garcia by KO. There's a reason why the 26 year old Tank still only fights smaller fighters)
Haney vs Linares.
(I think this is a great test for the young lion. I say he digs deep and pulls out a split decision against Linares.
Micky Bey vs Kambosas rematch.
(Bey was clearly robbed against Kambosas. A robbery that bad should be reviewed by the boxing gods and done up again)

For awhile now I’ve been growing more and more skeptical that many of these fights are actually gonna happen. After the Loma v Lopez showdown, everyone started salivating over the potential clashes at 135. A few months later, Lopez is most likely headed to Australia to fight Kambosas (who?), Garcia will most likely end up fighting Linares after Campbell checked that chin... Haney can’t seem to get anyone to pay attention to him, and you know how Floyd rolls when it comes to Tank.
I want to be 100% wrong here, but I fear boxing’s political climate is as broken as the nation’s, and coming together to make the big fights will be few and far between.
