one of the casuals made a poll earlier, these were the options...
How will Golovkin be remembered... ?
1) All time great, one of the best ever
2) Very good champion with a solid legacy/resume, not atg
3) Average champion who beat weak competition (not his fault)
4) Terrible champion who was overhyped and avoided challenges
a stupid poll, from a stupid poster
trust a silly casual-fan to include a pile of options, none of which accurately describe the fighter in question... you would think he would have the common-sense to include at least one option that was correct
the correct answer is in-between option 2 and 3
I will copy/paste text from both options as an example
this option... more accurate than any option in that poll...
A very good champion, who beat weak competition (100% his fault)
another ass-kissing fanboy who needs an adult to point him in the right direction

You sound like a gigantic hoe. The hell are you even crying about?
Ya GGG was a 2.5
He had a horrific career and was very average when he finally stepped up his competition.
One could argue GGG lost to Jacobs
One could argue GGG lost both fights to Canelo
One could argue GGG lost to Dervenchenko
All four of those fights were that close. Jacobs and Dervenchenko are not ATG and probably not even HOF. So it doesn't look good for Gennadyovich to have struggled so much.
Nonetheless Canelo has really taken on the spotlight in boxing. His success pays dividends to Gennayovich because those guys were evenly matched 12-12 after 24 rounds.
Gennady would've been able to fight any MW in history. He wouldn't have won all of those fights but he would've been able to fight them.
I dunno wtf you're really complaining about and I didn't read said original post with a poll that you're referring to but with that said, given those options and that I'm drunk, I'll take #3.
GGG never got to be tested earlier on. He finally got a rival late in his career and got all he could handle. The part where Canelo was the smaller guy fighting the bigger guy isn't a good look that he struggled. Sure, some might say GGG could have won the first but the fact that Canelo never went down, never looked hurt and got a draw out of it tells you something. Then Canelo finally gets the W in the second fight. Was GGG finally too old or was he just not as good as beating up the stiffs made him out to be? That is why I choose #3. He did become average and was much the result of the HBO hype train.
With that said, as you can see in my old ass signature, he was always exciting to watch. He delivered the knockouts and that's mostly what I watch for and he didn't disappoint. Okay bye.
LoL @ Canelo is smaller than GGG.
GGG has never been recorded weighing more than 172 or so fight night... Canelo is dehydrating just to make 175....come on man, I get your a casual but GGG fights at 160, Canelo 175...hydrated fight night canelo is well over 180.
Canelo weighs more than GGG. He is bigger than GGG.
97G was good at beating up below-average boxers. That's all. The minute he stepped up and fought someone with a pulse he magically got old. That's the way it goes with overhyped fighters. After Floyd swept Pacquiao the media needed a new boogeyman and 97G just happened to be there.

It’s actually not a bad poll time what makes it bad is the parenthesis excuses. Had he taken that out it would have been a decent poll.
fair call
the parenthesis excuse really did give the game away huh
