edgar berlanga vs tyler howard in april

Dude was thoroughly outboxed throughout the first three rounds in his last fight, but his opponent had ridiculously bad stamina and his energy level crashed hard in the fourth round. Howard is flat footed. Stiff. Loads up too much on his punches. Telegraphs his intention and I dont think he ever was put on the backfoot and showed enough elusiveness and movement to avoid berlangas power. Recipe for another KO 1.

No he is not good. Boxrec ranks him 165th in the world. Nothing has changed and Berlanga has not stepped up the quality of his opponents at all. This is just anther mediocre guy he will probably KO in the first round and he still will not have fought a guy boxrec ranks in the top 100. We already know he can KO average boxers in the first round. The question is how does he do against a guy rated in the top 20 168 pounders in the world. That is not asking too much of a guy claiming to be a beater of guys like Benavidez and Canelo.

I think I remember just seeing this dude, but not sure what card it was - he started strong but then couldn't really do extra, fizzled back to normal and the fight went on longer than it looked like it was going to, or should have if he had "it"; I remember thinking he will run into a big right hand against anyone marginally better than the last guy he fought. I think they said he is from a family of fighters so maybe he's tough enough to get up from what seems like the inevitable. IDK sometimes I don't mind a fight like this for a guy like Berlanga, at least he is still fresh, for whatever that is worth. if he can get up and take Berlanga to deep 2nd round waters, you never know.
